Have you ladies ever adjusted to other peoples cycles? Oh it is awful. Actually, it wasnt always awful. In uni, I was on a team and we all shared the same cycle and had af at the same time. I always thought this was a weird phenomenon that women adjust to others cycles, but its never kicked me in the butt til now.

Little background for those who have no idea what I am talking about. Sometimes if you spend alot of time with other women, or one in particular, you can switch to their cycles (over time). They did a study once where they rubbed a cotton tip under the arm of one women, sent it across the country and exposed another woman to it, and in time, she was on the same cycle as the first. Its somethings to do with the hormones. Its strange. Another funny thing is, those on BC dont normally change cycles, so if you spend lots of time with someone on the BCP, then your cycle is likely to change to the persons on the BCP. annoying, right.

since i have never been on the pill, i have always adjusted to others cycles, and quite easily. but for the past however long (a while) i was on my own cycle of 30 days...and very happy with that, especially tracking my cycles ttc. today, cd26, af arrives totally unexpectedly, and i turn to the girl i work with and say to her, listen, strange question, but when do you get your period. after a long story of how she was on the pill for ages and just came off and had af in jan but none since, but she started today....figures right. i wish i had thought of that before expecting a bfp on the 11th! strangly enough, im a little sad i dont get the end of my 2ww it just caught me totally by surprise. guess i will just have to save all those tests for next month.

now that you have read my sad story, run very far away so you do not adjust to my cycle too!!

This has happened to me loads of times, the strangest being me and my 3 girlfirends, all getting our first period in the same week!

I am in an office with 4 other girls. Two I know are on the pill, the other one must be approaching the menopause and the other girl I dont think uses contraception.

Blimey, had not thought of that and my cycles are pretty regular.

I use to work at a daycare and while I was there all the girls were on the same cycle...Oh God it was horrible. There are a number of things that can set your cycle wacky...I have even heard that if you a different source of light in your home ...like a new lamp or a skylight, it can change your cycle.

Myself and the girl I work with everyday all day for 5 days a weeks have exactly the same cycle!!
We think its funny we both get PMT at the same time.

that is strange! well, my only girl friend from highschool had the same cycle as me. funny enough we were talkin last month and sure enough, we're still on the same cycle, but we haven't physically seen each other since 2005. both of us are like clockwork and start/end AF the same day or just a day apart.

I've never heard of this but it is really interesting! I know that girls are very similar to their mothers although BCP changed me & my mum, but I've never noticed my cycle adapting to others around me. Its one to keep an eye on for sure though!

Yeah, I hate that too. Back in Dec. my sister started a new birthcontrol after the baby... I had a 19 day cycle!! Then the next month my close friend threw me off corse again, and I was like 4 days early.
I wonder if it works the same for pregnancy? If I hang out with all the pregnant people will I get pregnant quiker??? It might be a stretch, but I'm willing to give it a shot..... LOL

Me and my SIL have had the same cycle for years, after she had her daughter she hung out with me and blamed my hormones for her sudden arrival of AF.
