Have posted this in 1st Trimester forum too but ...

Everything tells me I'm OVing - sore bbs, EWCM, cramps etc - but still no smiley face on my CB Digi Ovulation sticks. Have also not had much luck with them in the past, never have I got a smiley face or a solid line.

So I'm kinda worried this might mean I'm not OVing.

Or maybe it means I'm one of the 5% who don't get on with OV sticks?

Or maybe I will OV tomorrow or Wedn.

Did any of you get PG, or know anyone who did, despite not getting positives on OV sticks? x

im in the same situation, i just dont know whats going on. The sticks arent working for me, although they have in the past. I ov in 4 days, and no sign of any lines. Im sorry im no help to you, but at least you got me sharing your boat with you

hey ladies, first things first, you can DEFINITELY get pg without seeing the smiley face. these opks are just guessing guidelines to what our body might be doing and when. our body will in fact ov (well almost always anyway) and then either get pg or af. the cycles are similiar, and days vary from woman to woman, so these tests are just to help us track the times of those things. id we do not get a smiley face, it could mean many things for example, a crap opk (cheapies sometimes are like that) or testing at the wrong time (supposedly morning is best? that probably varies too tho). so just because you might have missed the best time to test or have gotten a cheapie test that cant detect your levels, doesnt mean that you are not oving!! you will in fact ov (usually once every other month for each ovary, hence once a month using both) and CAN get pg even without a silly smiley!! id say, go with your gut and bd bd bd!!!!!!

i know i am not supposed to mention companies on here, so i wont, but there is a more detectable method that i have heard of out there that is done by a patch called duofertility. its like completely prelim state right now so you cant even get it yet, but check it out online and it gives good details of how it works and detects. and you wont miss the peak times because it reads it constantly. thats all i will say for now, but raed about it if you are interested in how they work.

My obgyn suspects that I am not Oing. I used the CBFM for 3 cycles and never got a peak but I think I O here and there (haha how sad). I have gotten positives on opks though...but can't say for sure if I was absolutely Oing or not....

Also you always have the LH in your body because the follicle (SP?) is building up to release the egg...that that gives off LH surge...but just because it is detected, doesn't mean you actually released an egg. They say with opks that the LH surge is before you O...so it is good to BD within 24-48 hours of getting a positive result. Sorry if you know all this, but I just wanted to post this because I have gotten positives on opks but I don't think I did actually O.

I've only been using them for 2 cycles and ran out on the first cycle after getting a faint line after 9 blanks. This cycle i got BLANK for about 3 or 4 days then V.FAINT, FAINT, bit DARKER, bit FAINTER, nothing. I never got a line as dark or darker than the test line.
Now i probably don't hold for long enough and don't always do it at the same time each day and i use cheapies. So i'm going off other sysmptoms, temping and the fact that i get anything on the stick!

I'm the same as Tansey. I have never ever got a positive on an opk and used them for around 8 month's. I get a faint line..nowhere near as dark as the control line.
They start off completely blank..then around cd12 i get faint's until around cd15 then back to blank again. I used them from CD8-CD18/20
I don't use them anymore and generally rely on temp's. Although they have not been so great neither.
Somebody did suggest trying a Saliva Ovulation Microscope.. I might give them a go. Here's a link...

Hi All,

I used OPKs for 2 months, no LH surge detected. Went to docs in a complete panic thinking I was not ovulating. Blood test confirmed that I was ovulating. Doc advised me not to rely on OPKS. I've stopped using them as they never work!
