Does anyone have such short cycles like my friend?

Her and her fiance desperatly want a baby but she is worried about the shortness of her cycles. i have told her to pee on a cheapie stick every day till she starts her period again to see when it would be likely she is ovulating and go from there.

Wow that is short. She could try POAS like you said but if she doesn't get a results tell her not to worry immediately - OPKs dont work for everyone and my sister POAS for a month and nothing and still got preg that same month!

i just thought of something, is she sure she is not having mid cycle ovulation bleeding? def have her pee on something, because if that second period is actually her ovulation, she might have to figure that out (at least it will be nice and slick for the spermies!)

With short cycles like that, it's likely that if she ever did conceive, her luteal phase is not long enough to support a pregnancy.

I would suggest to her to get the book "Taking charge of your Fertility" read it, try the things in there to get her cycle lengthened, and start charting either temps, CM or both so she knows when she ovulates (coupled with the OPK she's gonna try) and so she knows how long her luteal phase is.

If she has a leuteal phase defect, having a couple months of charting under her belt will allow her to be quite well armed when/or if she seeks fertility treatment.

This coming from another short cycle gal (though mine are 24 days not 14!)

Also a VERY good point.

She needs to start keeping track of these cycles and get in touch with her body's fertility cycle.

I agree with the ladies about possible ovulatory bleeding and reading the book, it may help lead her to what is going on with her body. It probably wouldn't hurt to check with her doctor either, just in case hope she gets some answers and is also on her way to a bfp as soon as she figures it out!
