Hello ladies :-)
As some of you know I am not a regular poster but here goes another rant !!
I have been TTC since September 2006 and FINALLY..... on 31.3.08 I got my first gyne/fertility appointment (after a long wait !!) and after numerous tests etc etc... ANYWAY..... the consultant was actually a really sweet woman and was very efficient... the first thing she told me was that I was too overweight (erm... i am a little under 12 stone and a size 14), that kinda annoyed me as lots of overweight women get pregnant, anyhow she told me that I also had PCOS (which I knew anyhow) and that it would very hard for me to lose weight (no sh*t) and she is right, I have had to cut my calories to no more than 1000 a day (and thats realllllly hard) and not a drop of weight has come off yet (although I started dieting 2 weeks before my fertility appointment)... anyhow on a positive note, I have been booked in for a laparoscopy (because as I told the doctor in September 2006 I was a good 2 stone lighter (and its only because I got really depressed mid 2007 that I put lots of weight on, with all this TTC stuff and being put on medication that my weight ballooned in addition to the PCOS) so her overweight theory kinda went out the window as I was at a normal weight back then... and in addition I will be having a large cyst removed from my left ovary, a cystoscopy and having my fallopian tubes dyed - I'm not sure when I will get admitted for this procedure as there is a long waiting list in East London but at least its a step ahead..

she said they would also be doing a biopsy (becuase of numerous cervical cancer scares in my late 20s) so its all go... am quite excited that finally someone has taken me seriously enough and understands that I may actually want more than one child and at 32 years of old its not looking all that hopeful !!
Anyhow in the meantime I have thrown away all my ovulation predictor kits and am totally going with the flow and just having s*x whenever the fancy takes me :-)
The Doc also told me that after the operations I would be put on something to stimulate my ovulation (although it appears even with PCOS that I am ovulating normally, thank god, but my cycles are now every 40 days so that kinda delays the process) and also a fat burning medication (cant remember what its called though), so its all go... am feeling very positive and am hoping that 2008 is the way to go !!..
Any other ladies with PCOS - I would love to hear your views, or just views generally from anyone :-)
Thanks for listening to my rant people !!
