are we trying too hard ?

do you think all the presure of timings etc is making
it harder to conceive, was an earlier thread by poppy perhaps the best
way to go, maybe staying off here for a while and trying not to think about it? I got pregnant on the pill last time, so I didnt honestly think it would take this long to happen

i believe that it will happen when it's "supposed" to happen! Although maybe sometimes we do put a bit of pressure on ourselves whilst TTC...hard NOT to think about it, eh? If i get too frustrated or upset, i try to take a step back and enjoy life and enjoy TTC . Stay positive, stay strong! Everything will work out perfect for you

Hi Samo,
I believe that too, but I just think that becoming obsessed with it, prob isnt the way to go about it, although without bb, I would be very naive in regards to dates etc, so I have learnt lot and am very grateful. Ok chin up to all our BFPS, whenever it may be !!! xxx

I'm sure there's sth to that, but if I hear ONE MORE PERSON say "it'll come when you're not thinking about it", I SWEAR they'll get a fist sandwich!!!!! I'm SICK of hearing that!!! Its like wanting anything else in life THAT badly - you can't stop thinking about it!!!!! *sigh*
But I think Samo's attitude is great - when its supposed to, thinking about it or not. voila.

I set you the challenge to try not to think about it - trust me, it'll leave you stressed, ha ha! Samo's right, try to turn it into a positive experience, looking forward to each cycle because it might produce a BFP rather than dreading it. Have hope and smile. I definitely feel this way this month, real excited. x

PS. I hear ya about the fist sarnie, Swiss Miss, I hear ya!

That. Or friends offering ideas on how long it's "supposed to take". Did you notice they ask you how long you've been TTC first? Under a year? "Ahhhh no wonder dear, it's SUPPOSED to take a year". Over a year? "Just last week I read this new research that a vast majority of women don't fall pregnant before three years in fact!" And on and on and on.....

On a serious less rant-like note, I don't think we're trying too hard. I don't believe in that. There's very little proven connection between levels of stress and ability to procreate. Our bodies are either fertile or not -with the appropriate shades of grey- and the merger either happens or not so us trying anything available to become more healthy and fertile as well as trying our best to plan and time that merger can't hurt at all.

I never understood those couples who casually say "Yeah we've always dearly wanted children, we never used contraception so if it hasn't happened it means it just wasn't meant to be!" I'm much rather of the stress-my-behind school of thought.

I agree with Samo it will happen when it's suppose to happen. I thought about it alot last month and still fell pregnant. I started the month of on a very positive note and went down hill slowly from there but I got preg! I couldn't believe it. So try not to stress. x
