OPKs - grrrrrrrrr!

I'm trying to get to grips with them but they're not being very helpful - think I'm going to have to buy the expensive Clearblue one.

Have started having two lines on the ovulation tests but they're negative and I'm sure the second line is getting fainter. I tested last night and got two lines (first time on day 14 of 26/27 day cycle) so I retested this morning (still two lines but negative result) and then again this evening (test line is now fainter).

Have I missed ovulation? Am I not ovulating?
Only have two tests left for this month

Grrrrrrrrrr!

Elm don't stress too much hun. I think if you don't get a + you should see a doc. I did two cycles where I got close to a + but not quite, I never got that second darker line.

And I had some tests done - and it turns out I was not ovulating at all. I got put on clomid and as you can see by my chart I got a whole bunch of + opks. Also my temps made more sense this cycle.

I would get some tests done hun, just to make sure.

I'm the same, don't think I got any positive OPKs this month as the line never quite got darker than the test line but did have EWCM so who knows? Using the cbfm next month and if that doesn't show O then I'll ask for tests....

I sometimes think the tests are more stressful than helpful but I like to know as much as I can about what's going on.

Good luck hon

Thank you both. It is sooooo hard not to stress and be miserable and fed up when things don't go the way you want them to especially after getting all excited because there was a line after having nothing for days.

It's nice to have somewhere to stress and obsess!

Lu28 - think we should blame the OPKs until we've tried the CBFM and then take it from there (will get myself off to the drs as soon as I'm sure the tests are telling me to), maybe we'll get a BFP this month anyway and won't have to...

Thanks

Ive never had a proper positive one either as in the test line has NEVER been darker than the control line for me.

However I do use a Clearblue Fertility Monitor and it shows I ovulate. Apparently the OPK's don't work on 5% of women. Could be you are one of the 5% or your surge lasts for less than 12 hours. It is frustrating though, I know exactly how you feel.

I'm with you, blaming the OPKs until I know otherwise! The CBFM should be interesting but as you say, hopefully we'll have bought them and after this month don't need them!

What cycle day are you on Elm?

Day 16 today - my cycle is normally 26/27 days, will get a little ticker thing.

I'm going to do my last two test things and see what they say - even though they're evil little sticks that are obviously faulty!!!

Just one line today. Might put the remaining one away and try and forget about it. At least the TWW is shorter

I'm on CD19 out of an average 26 day cycle, we could almost be cycle buddies! Over the last 6 months my cycle has gone from 22 days to 30 days and everything in between so it's anyone's guess really.

I'm not getting any lines either now, so it's just the wait for af....
