Can B6/B complex hurt instead of help? **UPDATE*

Last month I had a chemical pregnancy. Around the 4th day of my new cycle, I started taking B6. I have always been regular (28-30 day cycle) but also have always starting spotting around 10-12dpo. Well this month I have went wayyyy off track. I def O'd around CD13 or 14. But on CD 7 I started spotting. Nothing heavy at all. It's been a variety of light brown, light pink, light red even some clear CM with little red streaks. At first I thought GREAT!! it's IB!! Well here we are 7 days later and I am STILL spotting!! I have been wearing a tampon to track it and after about 3hrs there will be one small pink spot on the tampon (sorry TMI!). I am really concerned that the B6 is not helping but perhaps hurting me!! Is this possible?

Also some more new symptoms I have now (that I don't normally have) is nagging pulling and small cramps on one of either side and on Monday I felt like I had the flu. Then felt better up until tonight...same thing, I feel like complete poo!!

Have you tested yet? The other thing is you shouldnt take b6 on its own, it should be taken as part of a B complex or with B12, are you taking pre-natals as well?

My B-Complex (100 mgs) is making me feel weird.
Sleepless, can't get to sleep, wake up frequently, restless, jittery... a couple of times, I've had vision issues, where the light seems to be flickering.
And of course, the ever-popular neon-yellow piss (normal, or so I've read... but it still doesn't seem healthy).
I seem to have lost weight in the week I've been taking it, and I'm already pretty thin.

It's got me a little worried.
I just want to make absolutely sure I'm not killing my liver and kidneys, here.

The weight loss is water weight only. I had this happen to me as well. I started taking it a couple days before I expected my usual 4 day spotting to start. 9 days of spotting later, I stopped taking it. AF arrived, and I gained all the water weight back. I've started taking it again last night and giving it another try this month.

I have a super short LP (8-9 days), so willing to give it another try. But 9 days of spotting sure wasn't my idea of a good time. Then when AF did arrive, it arrived with a serious vengence!!

Otherwise, I have had no side effects with my sleep or anything like that. I'm taking a B100 Complex.

Your taking too much for you, it effects your nervous system if your od'ing on it. I would be stopping it straight away, the effects wear off pretty much as soon as you stop taking it.

It is B complex.....100mg. And yes it is with a prenatal vitamin. Which I just read is kind of a no no. WannaB....I haven't tested yet. Still gonna wait until AF doesn't show FOR REAL. I am really starting to point the blame of this ridiculous spotting to the B complex. And the urine color is just tooooo freaky!! I scared myself with that one...I seriously thought I had consumed the deadly amount of Mtn Dew until I read about the neon green pee!! (Its just not natural to have your toilet paper GLOW when you're done wiping). I am feeling like total crap tonight and about to head to bed. I don't usually feel like this before AF but I'm not going off any "not so normal" symptoms this month due to the vitamins.

I have decided to discontinue the B-Complex for now.
It's a shame, because I bought two bottles of it last weekend, and they weren't cheap.
I may try it again later, but I've had a bad cold for two weeks and I just don't feel well, and I think the B-Complex is making matters worse by preventing me from sleeping enough to recover from it.
So, I'm off it for now.
If months go by and I don't get pregnant, I'm sure I'll get desperate enough to start taking it again at some point.

Just drop one or the other, if you drop your pre-natal just make sure you still get your folic, the B Vits and the folic are probably the most important parts of the pre-natal anyway. You can get too much B6, I ended up posting a warning on that thread about lengthening your lp with it. And you can do damage, some can be irreversable if the dose is too much for you, and from reading it effects people in different ways so the recommende dose can still have an adverse effect. Good luck with your bfp hun, not too long to wait at least now!

AF flew in dead on time this morning. I knew it before I even made it to potty as I woke up and bb's were normal size and no tenderness. But this makes me happy because I still have my 28 day cycle. I'm thinking I'm going to ditch the B complex and just take my prenatal. I'm hoping the 7 day spotting was just my body reacting to a new vitamin. (Erm I never take ANYTHING healthy until TTC) I'm counting today as CD1. Temped this morning for the first time with my new BBT and I am back in the game!!

Hi your change in cycle could be down to your chemical last month, it can effect things sometimes. As far as I am aware with b6 it is very good to steady your cycle and ovulation time and lengthen your lp. I have read that up to 300 mg you dont get side efffects, however I have read something else to contradict this that states high dose can effect your nervous system.

I take 100mg a day which is combined in my mom to be capsules from boots and have not had any problem with it.

good luck hun x
