Oh yay! I'm so glad to have found this. Marine Wife here! Getting ready to endure another deployment this May to Afgahnistan for another 7-9 months alone. boo. OH just returned in August from a MEU and was gone 7 months...love my man to pieces and am SOO proud of him but TTC is so hard when he is gone during OV LOL. Training keeps him away so much and its hard to be alone so much, but love him so much its totally worth it! Hoping to get a baby before he leaves again!!

Army_Angel, whereabouts in Germany are you guys? DH is 52nd here and is non-deployable. I must say the housing where we are here is the nicest I've ever seen.. Before here we were in Ft. Campbell, KY... talk about deployments he deployed right after we got married. Deployments = the worst.

Our tours are 6 months, is it right that the US boys go on tour for 18 months at a time?
Stay strong ladies. x x x x
It's 12 to 15 months generally, but some get to split deployments at 6 months with other guys! That's about as short as Army gets generally, I'm not for sure about other branches?

Am not in Germany, we're in Arizona... we were offered Germany but werent ready for an overseas move so we decided against it... I hear ya on the deployments! Hubby and I got married right before he shipped to basic and he deployed a month after we got to our first duty station for 15 months... we were at Fort Drum at the time. So far his unit here is non deployable, thank god! but one of the other batts keeps trying to pull guys from his unit to go to afghanistan.... so is a bit stressful right now til we know for sure hes not going anywhere

I believe Airforce and Marines are doing 6-9 month tours and Navy usually does 6-8 month deployments

Hey ladies can i join you please?

Im a UK army girlfriend, soon to be wife! Luckily my man has no more deployments coming up as he is termintating and coming out in May Im ssoooooo so excited. Im so so proud of him for what he has done i really am but im really looking forward to having a real life where i know he will be coming home to me everynight. As you all see TTC when they are away for months on end is a total pain.
he has served in Afghan, Iraq and Berlieze (spelling). He has been in the army for 9 years and now he feels its time to come out and im so relieved.

Laura- That's great hun we still have 3 1/2 years left in.. 2 3/4 of which will be spent here in germany ... I miss my family like crazy! I can't wait till we get out..And get to move home around the people we love. It's hard being so far away.. which is what really started me on TTC, I figure if we have a little family of our own..(aside from just DH & I) it will be easier, and go by quicker. Plus they gave us a 3 bedroom, I mean.. cummon. That's just ASKING us to have a baby

Army_Angel- Hope he stays hun .. It's always stressful when they start "selecting" for who goes and who stays. Lord knows that we all wish we had a say in it. I told DH I'd kick some butt (jackie chan style) if they decided to have him leave again. Not that it would make any difference, but the thought of going batshit crazy on one someone about it was nice. Rest assured if he does have to go (knock on wood and hope he doesn't) you'll have a great support system on here. Didn't realize how many of the ladies I already knew on here were military wives !

Im quite lucky really as only moved 2 hours drive away from my family so when im down and need company i just pop in the car and off i go!
I think your right there hun, they are telling you to have kids. lol. We privatley rent. The army houses where we are based are awful. It looks like an estate of tin cans. lol. The army houses are cheaper to live in here but i can see why. Plus The army wives that i know are right bitches. and get involved in everyone elses business which i dont like as im a private person so im glad i dont live on the pads estate really.

xxx
