we've been ttc for a long time now, been pregnant a few times but have lost them all. If we can't have children, we can't have children, as simple as that - no point trying to adopt for us, too many hoops too high for me to jump through (I'm disabled and I need care myself so there's no way that they'd let me adopt a child). I have some 'projects' that I'd like to do if we don't have children or if we do, when they're a bit older.....but other than that I try not to think about it too much. I feel like a failure as a woman tbh.

Aw, don't think like that. It's just life - some people are dealt one hand, other people another. Being able to physically have children doesn't make you a good woman or a good mother.
I am a strong believer that if you want something badly enough, you'll get it in the end. Life has a way of just working itself out sometimes.

I know how incredibly lucky we are to already have Kayleigh and Charlie, but the thought of having no more scares me to death. We both have so much to give and want at least 2 more kids.

Saying that though, being almost 38, I'm not sure what our other options are if we carry on not getting pg. Having 2 kids already, we can't afford to go private for IVF, and I doubt the NHS would take us. I suppose it's just a case of us keep trying until we're successful (which we will be!!!!)

oooh, good question!! We've been trying on and off for three years. Few months here, and there. Last year when we where having things evaluated for fertility and nothing really came up I asked DH if he'd ever adopt. He said not really. Then 7mths ago we took in my three nephews. He's been great.
Now I know that sucessfull or not at making our own baby, we're going to adopt or do foster care. There are lots of children out there who need loving parents in stable homes!!! I know because my nephews are just 3 of millions.
I think sometimes God has other plans... ya know? We've always wanted a house full of kids, we're thinking at least 6. And no, we're not certifiable... LOL

sorry to be so cynical huni, but it doesn't always work out. Guess I'm just one of the 'unlucky ones'

Cracking thread....
Our plan....

Exhaust all routes - whatever they maybe - we're about to be referred to fertility specialist, so see what they say. Would defo go for IVF, then if that doesnt work, defo adopt. We've both agreed we woudln't go for sperm or egg donor, it's either 100% both, or 100% not both (if that makes sense)

I think it's good to have a 'plan' when you've been TTC for so long, or had m/c probs - it kinda gives you hope when all you have is despair

Im not sure we have an entrie plan yet ...

What with tests being undergone atm its hard for us to plan too much. But IVF is my next "big" option. If that doesnt work after a few attempts, well lets face it not everything works first time, then i dont have a clue lol ... I dont even want to think about IVF not working at all lol. That is my shining light!!

Well, being in the older group of women ttc (im 38 ) and having a couple of friends already on list for fertility treatment (one got pg with ivf but had a non related to pg problem that made her mc, she;s going again this month. The other is still waiting for treatment) i am gonna sign up for it very shortly. There's a 2 year wait in our nhs area..

I havent ever considered adoption, its just not for us I think..but then again i have faith i will have a baby au naturel (as we did get pg ) so maybe thats why.

So, we will keep on trying until we get on to fertility treatment and then take it from there...
