Advice please, how do you keep going?

Hi Ladies,

I did a HPT this morning and got a
isn't here yet but i guess its just a waiting game now.

This is our 5th cycle TTC but I am finding it harder each month dealing with the disappointment.

I know there are many people on here who have been trying for a lot longer and I suppose my question is how do you cope?

No one knows we are trying so can't really talk to friends/ family. My husband has the patience of a saint keeps quoting to me that it can take up to a year etc etc etc. I am trying to find things to do to take my mind off thinking about it.
I have registered for an evening course starting in a few weeks and will probably check out taking swimming lessons. Truth be told I don't know that this will help much but what else can I do????

Thanks for your advice

I have only been trying for 3 months but I know what you mean. I try to stay away from the forum for a couple of days after my AF has shown up, and try to push all baby thoughts from my head.
I also try and do some things I could not do if I had got a BFP like eat naughty cheese, with a nice botle of wine, go stupid on the hula hoop on Wii fit plus, sneak a crafty fag etc.
I try and treat it like my last month of doing these sort of things, it helps me get through AF then I can concentrate on trying again.

Thanks Mrschoochoo, I have recently started hitting the gym again so feel guilty if I was to splurge. Don't have a Wii board but had a go on the hula hoop on a friend's...sooo coooool

My husband bought me a DS and loads of games to play for Christmas to mellow me out a little bit.Just keeping your mind occupied really helps. Although it makes the time taken to TTC go a little easier, there's still the disappointment when AF arrives. The thing that keeps me going the most (as soft as it sounds) is the support, from my husband and the support I get from all the posters on here knowing we are all in it together.
