Most doctors should want you to have a period at least every 3 months due to the fact that cancer risks can increase if you are not having a regular cycle. I would suggest having the progesterone to induce your period and hopefully it will be enough to "kick-start" you. You should also find a doctor that is willing to take your blood and find out your hormone levels. I think your body is trying to get back into its rhythm, but it needs a little memory boost to get going. Good luck!!!

Just be very confident and make your voice heard. Let them know that you have not had your period since June and are wanting to start a family NOW. Tell them that you take your health (reproductive and otherwise) seriously, and that you are concerned that you are not getting your period. Tell them that your family has a history of fertility problems and that you want to have you blood checked to make sure that your hormones are where they should be.
Be very persistent and confident. It is your life and your body and they should respect you for wanting to take control of your health.
I have been where you are and I had to switch doctors and clinics until I could find a doctor that would listen the way that I needed to be heard.
Good luck and if you need anything, feel free to pm me.

I was on depo for 5 years when I decided to stop. I was supposed to have my last shot Feb 09 but I didn't get it - so my last shot was Nov 08. Soon after my shot ran out - I felt like I had all kinds of preg symptoms. Bloating, sore breasts, nausea, headaches and fatigue. I saw my Dr in Feb 09 and just let him know that I wanted to ttc. He said come back in 6 months if AF isn't back yet. In August 09, my Dr put me on provera to try to trigger AF. When that didn't work, he sent me for an ultrasound. The ultrasound determined that the depo had really prevented a lining from building in my uterus - which is why the provera didn't work. The doctor then prescribed me birth control pills for 3 months to jump start AF. I took them for one month and got AF back. She's been coming every month on time 28 day cycle. I used OPKs this cycle but I didnt have a surge. My Dr said that I need to chart next cycle and then he'll send me to a fertility specialist. Depo provera was great when I needed it but the after effects are aweful.

hi ladies

how are you all...i have a question about depo..it is abut my friend who is trying to fall preggies again but also after depo waiting for it to all be normal again.

the thing is that she is the complete opposite to you guys.

well she had her little girl in feb and was given depo straight away..she had 3 shots in total of which she had constant breakthrough bleeding.then the sister gave her some tablets which would stop the bleeding and as soon as tabs were finished she would bleed again

well her last shot(3 shot) was in august and she is still bleeding all the time..will have a coule of days inbetween where she wont bleed but then its back again

does any one have any advice on this or know what it might be

thanks very much

have a fab day and hope you all get the BFP you deserve

That same thing happened to my sister. The Dr put her on birth control pills for a few months to kind of "re-train" her body of what a normal cycle is like. It worked for her - but she has decided to just stay on the pills now.
