Question about Peaks on CBFM

Hi Girls.

Just a quick question:

When you get a peak on a monitor, is that the same as a positive OPK, in the sense that you will ovulate in around 24-48 hours. Or does a peak mean that you're Ovulating now? (meaning the Highs are like a positive opk, and leading up to O)?

So, for example, if I didn't BD for 3-4 days during highs, but BD on the morning I got a peak, would that be too late?

I think it means the same thing as opks when they detect a LH surge, so you have either O'd or about to, that it why it is good to BD when you have HIGH readings. I believe it states this in the packet...??

COMMON PEAK!!

Hi Neyney,

On the instructions with my CBFM it says that on the High fertility days you have a chance on conceiving but on the Peak days you have the best chance of conceiving so be sure to BD on the Peak days.

Good Luck.

hi neyney

From my understanding, the highs are when the monitor detects an increase in estrogen which means ovulation is close, and the peaks are when the lh surge happens. The first peak is approx 24 hours before ovulation, the second peak is the day of ovulation, and the one high day after your second peak, is the 24 hour period when you may get pregnant if the egg doesn't disintegrate first. If that makes sense.

I tend to get 2 or 3 high days, then 2 peak days, then 1 high day.

Mind you, I'm totally skewed this month. I also POAS from CD6 and detected my first high reading on CD8, and I've been getting high readings every since, think I'm CD20 now. But then, clomid may do that apparently. So I have absolutely no idea when I ovulated. Although we BD'd about 8 times between CD7 & CD17. So hopefullly that did the trick.

Good luck

xx

Thanks Guys.

Loo!! - GOOD LUCK GIRL!!

Maz - I'm on clomid too, which I think is the reason for all my highs...Praying we both get a peak soon!
