I'm Currently Feeling: | Taking folic acid off the shelves is discusting! It is not widely available enough! Without wanting to scare anyone, I didnt plan my pregnancy and so didnt take folic acid. I thought that "so many woman don't even know they are preg - it couldnt do any harm". But I was wrong and now my baby has spinal bifida. Folic acid reduces the chances of your baby having spinal bifida by up to 70%! Make sure you get as much as you can! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm taking Pregnacare at the moment, although I'll take a look in tescos if theirs is similar but cheaper.
It is strange that they'd discontinue it - surely there's just a constant demand for it. Unless more people are taking a full pre-natal vitamin now so demand for folic acid is going down. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've just finished Boots own Pg +Omega and got Tescos own PG ones as they are so much cheaper!
Folica acid should be free as it is so important! There is a big campaign to inform people about it so you would think there would be more on offer not less! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | If you are at risk of spinal bifida - either having it in your family or a previous pregnancy - your doctor will prescribe an extra strong dose for free.
I think food such as bread should be fortified with it - because how many woman find out they are pregnant and it was unplanned and it is too late? Folic acid is needed within your first month of pregnancy in order to prevent spinal bifida. |
