Help.. I'm TTC challanged and can't find O!!!

Okay, so my periods fluctiate about every three months or so... that said they average about 29 days long. So it stands to reason that I should take the shortest cycle into consideration too when I try to find O. Right?
That's what I did So we've been BDing like crazy people for three days, just to cover the bases. Day before last I could still feel my cervix and no EWCM... Yesterday I didn't have any OPK's (mine were expired... guess I should have checked on that ehhh..) But my cervix was really high, I could barely reach it maybe tmi, and I had EWCM. I was stoked as I thought ooooh this is what I was waiting for. Well this morning, since I ran out to get some OPK's last evening, I POAS and still neg.
So if I O'd yesterday would it still show up on the OPK today... or shall I assume that I haven't O'd or had LH surge quite yet and keep testing and BDing? How fast does it start and stop? I feel so stupid for asking, but I know you all can help me out.

OPK's only tell you that you will ov within 24-36 hours. However, that depends on when you got your positive, and yes, it is possible to miss a peak.

I would also add you dont have to bd on the day of ov as spermies live longer. I got pg from bd the day before i ov and other people days before that so if you bd in the last few days, well done you!

have you tried poas.com yet? It explains it all there and is very useful finding answers for all the crazy opk /poas business..

Good luck, hun! xxx

Omi, thank you for replying. I POAS again tonight and got a pos. So I guess I didn't miss it. Yay! Never been so happy to know I ovulated. This is my first month charting or following this stuff so I'm really excited.
You guys prob. think I'm a bit off but I'm glad to know that things are working properly! Now lets hope the spermies do their job.
Thanks again.
