The best vitamins you can take are the pregnancy ones. They contain the reccomended amount of folic acid for TTC and also doesnt contain vitamin A so you dont need to worry about that one when catching.

Get to know your cycle, the more you get in tune with it te more you can accuratley get timings right etc and pinpoint if theres any probs.

Good luck!

Hi hun, welcome to the journey!
Well firstly, has a pre-conceptional appointment with your GP, he'll make sure you are healthy etc. Then start taking the pregnancy vitimins, pregnacare are good! It's also best to start eating healthily, and doing exercise! Good luck!

Hi there and welcome! I've only just joined too but here's what I've managed to pick up in about three weeks...
Know your cycle- make a fertility calandar or chart with fertility friend
Know your body- cervix postition and CM
Evalutate your diet- make sure your eating right
Take a vitamin and make him take some too- Prenatals are good for you and he should take vitamin C and Folic acid (can increase the swimmers by about 400%, yikes right? )
Read up on personal lubracants- there not all good for sperm, I just read last night that olive oil and egg whites are sperm friendly. (personaly not sure if I'd use egg whites... but olive oil I'm considering)
Buy an OPK- I've just been using Clear Blue with the lines, retails for about $16. US as it's my first month, but many of the girls here use the Clear Blue monitor which you can pick up on ebay for a steal if you don't have the cash to drop on it.
Read through the posts on TTC- All sections are extreamly helpful.
Google is your friend- I've searched lots of silly questions and have found lots of interesting websites.
And lastly and prob most importantly- See your GYN for a check up and stamp of approval.
Best of luck to you TTC and I hope this helped. See you around.

A good multi vitamin or prenatal vitamin is important when you start trying because it contains folic acid which you need in your system for a while before you actually conceive (to prevent spina bifida).

Take up yoga or meditation - you'll need it if you're trying for more than 3 months!! x

OMG - I didn't know that folic acid was good for men too ... I've just done a quick yahoo search and there is loads of information that zinc and folic acid taken together by the man can almost double the quantity and increase the quality of the little swimmers.

Tesco here I come - more folic acid and zinc tablets needed I think.
Yippee!!
