due to have a lap & dye at end of jan...when should i have the pre op & mrsa testing?

Hello....im a bit confused & hope you can help. Ive been told that i may be having a laparoscopy the last week of jan or 1st week of feb...my surgeons secretary is waiting for the confirmation of the surgery dates apparently....well thats only 3 weeks away. I have my medical questionnaire & mrsa testing slip at home & just phoned the hospital & asked when do i need to come in & have a pre op & do the mrsa testing? the receptionist said that my surgeons secretary should arrange this with me & i should wait for a call from her. She said it usually takes about 2 weeks for the pre op & mrsa testing results to be all cleared.....which has left me panicking!!! if i am having the lap & dye last week of jan then i need to have this pre op & mrsa testing like asap....dont want the actual op delayed at all....i dont want to phone my surgeons secretary as i phoned her xmas eve asking if she had confirmation of the surgery date yet & then rung her again mon just gone with same question....she sounded bit snotty with me last mon, as if i should stop ringing her & just wait 4 her phone call.

Hi

i had my lap in Nov and my dye yesterday, why do you have to have a pre op (waht is that) and the MRSA. i didnt have any of these?

if you are unsure then you should call her, sometimes they forget they do this everyday and take it for granted. this is all new to you so of course you are goiing to be nrevous and want to aks q's..

Do either of you two ladies know when in a cycle you can have a lap and dye?
My friend who has been TTC for over 2 years is due to have one but they told her it can only be done at the very beginning of a cycle. Because she has PCOS that only happens every 8 weeks if at all....so she waited and waited for a new cycle, that came and then they bloody deferred her appointment!!!! Now she has to wait another 8 weeks?
Doesnt make sense why they cant just do it now?

well i caved in & phoned the secretary & sooo glad i did....she explained i wouldnt need the pre op as thats just for major operations ( a laparoscopy is pretty major to me tho lol!!) she said that as im a private patient i wouldnt need the mrsa screening.....i was like im not private im having it done on the nhs, the consultant said it would be fine. she said to get it on the nhs i have to get my doc to refer me as an nhs patient. so i then booked an appointment & went & saw my doc ( luckily managed to see him today! usually appointments are hard to come by at my docs!!) he explained he couldnt refer me until he gets the letter from my surgeons secretary saying that my surgeon has agreed to do the laparoscopy. is it just me or i am right in feeling that these people are not doing their jobs properly....i shouldnt have to chase up letters being sent to each other should i!!! i am now so worried that these letters wont get sent & my date 4 my lap will get delayed.......just when i was starting to feel positive about getting answers as to y im not conceiving.......i bet im waiting ages now x
