TTC--new to forum

Hi All-

I am new to the forum. My husband and I have been trying for almost a year, and I am starting to get frustrated and disappointed. I have read a lot of articles, forums, posts...everything seems to lead to, just relax and it will happen. How do I relax? I have been let down so many times now. Any suggestions on how to just relax and not worry so much?

Thanks!

Yeah if you find out let me know! Easier said than done, I have a pretty relaxed attitude, but I do basal body temping to know that I ovulated. What methods have you been using so far to determine when your fertile time is, or are you just having regular sex every couple of days to cover your bases? Oh and welcome to the forum, should have said that first before I asked you about your sex life I guess!

Welcome honey If you learn the secret to not obsessing please let me know It's not easy at all when you want it so bad! It can be done though, I just don't think I have that personality! lol. It helps to try to make sex a little sexier if that makes sense! lol. Try to have fun with it

I think relaxing is really hard like wannab said, however having said that there are lots of way to reduce stress if not get rid of it, you have try and become calm on the issue, took me a cycle to get into the mindset, you have to somehow come to terms that it will happen but you just don't know when and every month you're a month closer to that just keep telling yourself it will happen, that has nowhere to hide!!

welcome to BnB, I hope you have a fab time talking to everyone on here good luck on your journey

Thanks everyone for your replies! I guess I don't feel so bad now, since most of your sound just like me...anxious, curious, nervous, and maybe even a little obsessed !

I started right away w/ using the ovulation predictor kit in Feb '09...but I think that was adding too my stress, so my new years resolution for '10 was to listen to my body more. After nearly 10 months, I feel I have a good idea of when I am ovulating based on the previous month w/ the predictor kit. As far as sex goes, at first we focused more on the time that the predictor kit read positive, but then after some reading, I realized we should even be doing it more before then, so then we broadened our focus to a few days before and after. Then a friend told me her OBGYN told her to just start having sex every other days starting the first day after her mentrual cycle, because she tried for 10 mths before her first pregnancy, and that worked for her. So we tried that for a while. Now, we focusing on days 10-15, plus we have changed our diets to much healthier foods and are concentrating on more exercising, since that seems to play a big part in everything I am reading.

Sorry, that was so much! I am just trying to enjoy the process, but right now it seems like EVERYONE I went to school with, work with, or am friends w/ is pregnant but ME!

Thanks everyone!
