HSG advice needed

Hello Ladies,

I would be really grateful if I could have your opinions on this........ I have my HSG booked for next Thursday and as some of you may recall I was told I had to call the x-ray dept on day one of AF so they could book me in between day 6 & 10. They told me spaces are limited so it may take up to 6 months to get the appt. So I called and told a little fib and said I knew when I was due on so got the appt for next thurs. First Problem is that AF came one day early so I will now be on day 11 but plan to pretend it is day 10 and not BD so wont be risking anything. That problem I have sorted coz I called and they have no more slots this month so if I don't take this one it will have to be next month and I CAN'T wait any longer unless they want to book me into the psychiatrists at the same time.lol

second problem, I was given antibiotics to take starting the night before the HSG and for 7 days after. I was also told by gynae to take probiotics as I am prone to thrush. Well both say on the packaging not to take if TTC or pregnant. Today when I went in for blood test for PCOS they said it's fine to take them as I am advised not to try this month anyway. WTF!!!! Do they not know every month is so precious and 12 months of trying now is enough to send anyone round the twist. I am also dissapointed as the gynae said this month would increase my chances of falling pregnant. So after all this waffle I would like to hear some oppinions. What would you do girls?

Hello, I had a hsg done in Jan and I too had to take meds befor but I always have problems taking meds I always get a upset belly so I decided to start taking them after I got the hsg, I was fine by doing it that way. I took 2 mortin on my way to the hospital. I had mine on cd7 I think that the only reason they plan it for those days is to insure that you are not pg. Not to scare you but it is not pleasent. It only takes like 5 mins till it is over but try to stay relaxed it does make it a little easer. I wish you all the luck and sending you lots of .

I'm Currently Feeling:

I had my hsg done in january, and its not that bad. The worst bit is having to lie with your legs wide to the world ... or so it feels anyhow.

I had mine done on CD10, and didn't ovulate that month. I have also been told that it may increase your chances of pregnancy for the following 3-4 months, but I was advised not to have intercourse for a couple of days, as I would be a bit tender. To be honest, I didn't feel up to it anyhow.

Good luck with your hsg, and try not to worry.

xx
