Question....

Hi girls! I have a question...maybe it's just me being thick....but I'd love to hear your opinions. Is it possible to have very regular AF's and not ovulate? I have read that you can have the odd cycle where you don't ovulate but still have AF. It might just be me being paranoid but I'm sure I didn't ovulate last month (first month off the pill) and I haven't gotten a positive ovulation test this month yet (though there is still time). I feel like I have some signs of PCOS although have never talked to a doctor about it but my AF's have always been bang on time every month. Is this possible? Thanks!

Hi costella

I don't really know the answer to that. Although I recently saw a fertility specialist who basically said that if your cycle is anywhere near regular, the likelihood is that you ovulate. After that I don't know. If you're only just off the pill, it can take a few months for your body to go back to normal, so I would try not to worry if I were you.

Good luck ttc

Thanks, Maz. I really needed that bit of reassurance. I keep reminding myself that I just got off the pill and that my body will need some time to adjust....but it's hard when my mind is swimming of thoughts of me never ovulating! Thanks again!

yes, you can huni. You can ovulate and not have AF, have AF and not ovulate, ovulate and have AF and not ovulate or have AF....the latter would be wonderful if you weren't TTC *sigh*

If your cycle is regular then I should think you ovulate most months but sometimes it just doesn't happen for various reasons best known only to the ovulation fairy.

Just wanted to say don't get discouraged... When I came off of BDP it took me about 8 months to get a regular cycle. My sister got preg. two months after coming off... So keep this in mind and try to be patient. If you've got no ovulation still in like two or three months I'd see the doc. But I seriously think you're fine. It could even be that your not testing at the right time of day for you. Everyone is different on that too.
Geeesh with so many variables it's a wonder anyone manages to get preg. LOL Anyway, relax and enjoy all the BD anyway!!!
