Breast Reduction Surgery

Hi,

I had breast reduction surgery over 6 years ago. My Dr told me it's about 50/50 on if I'd be able to breast feed or not. Even if I do produce milk he connected the nerve from my nipple to my scar tissue underneath so I experience a very odd and painful feeling when that nipple is touched.. I feel the 'touch' somewhere else. Do you know what I mean?

It's like if I touched your knuckle but you felt a sharp tingle in your wrist that was on the verge of being very painful.

So anyway, I'm hoping this won't be a problem for me when the time comes to breast feed.

So have any of you had the surgery and if so does it effect how your breasts feel during the 2ww, or when you're pregnant, or once you have a baby?

Thanks!

Oh I was more curious about the 2ww and how it felt for other women who had the same thing. I didn't know if it would change the way breasts felt during that time, for either pms or if implantation took place.

The breast feeding part was more of an afterthought, since I know there are mom's in the 2ww as well. Thanks anyway..

I was campaigning to get breast reduction on the nhs (turned down, too fat) and I was also told about not being able to BF. From my point of view I was ok with it. My breasts are a 36F-H (F normally, G when pre mental and H when I was BF'ing) and I found that they were so large that I struggled to breast feed. My son found it difficult to latch, I couldn't hold him in my arms and feed him as he couldn't get a latch on to my nipple so I had to lay him on a pillow next to me and sort of drape a boob over him. Also there were a couple of night feeds where I very nearly suffocated him! So I decided that the likelihood of not being able to breastfeed was better than the certainty that I would not be able to do it and having the comfort of a smaller bosom.

That was my way of looking at it. I am going to wait til I have finished having kids now and lose the weight to keep the PCT happy. Then I will try and get them done again. In the meantime, next baby will be fed via electric breast pump!
