Personally i check it by what is in my knickers but i haven't being doing this long! Some people check it by touching their cervix where it comes from or by looking on a tissue when you wipe.

I always just look at it when i wipe.. it really is eggwhitey as they say when you're ovulating. Clear, stringy and you can pull it between your fingers..its what the spermies use to swim up to your egg!

Sorry if this sounds gross...but I do feel my cervix and if it is stringy...you are good to go.

I also reach on up there and check the position of my cervix, sometimes I am able to check my CM if it's on the toilet paper, but most of the time to check if it stretches between my fingers during O'ing, I reach on up there again to get enough. Good luck to you!

i check underwear and paper but it mostly looks the same to me, i tried checking inside one month and i gave myself thrush, not doing that again!!
