Can you ladies settle something for me?
My AF usually just starts heavy from the minute it starts. For the past couple months, though, I've had some spotting before AF officially arrived. This month, AF started with some very very very light brown discharge on Wednesday, followed heavy dark brown discharge on Thursday afternoon. It wasn't enough to make it onto my underwear, but it was somewhat thick when I went to the washroom. The discharge continued until later on Thursday evening (around 8:30 or 9 pm), when I finally had some normal red flow. My first full day of flow was Friday.
What is my CD1?

I go by when i got full flow - no matter what time on that day. So if it was proper red flow I'd go by Thursday if you believe it started properly that night.

This discussion has happened b4 and the conclusion was, CD1 is when u c red flow....
Have u had any mcs in the past...as this can explain the brown...coz its old- when I had a mc last year i was getting brown blood for months after and the doc said it was a result of the mc??? Just a though hun!?

Hi CapitalChick,

CD1 is the day you start full flow of bleeding. If AF arrives after 5pm then CD1 is counted as the following day.

Defo .. when you see flow, spotting is not classed as AF, its onky whe you get flow that you can call it AF
