Anyone taking letrozole (femara)? Need to hear your experiences....

My doctor prescribed letrozole (femara), which is similar to clomid. I ovulate on my own, but he said it would work to stop the spotting that I had for a week before AF.

This is my second cycle. First cycle was 2.5mg/day of letrozole from CD3 - CD7. Blood tests showed that I didn't ovulate, so doc increased the dose to 5mg/day from CD3 - CD7. I'm on CD15 and am still not showing any real signs of ovulating.

What are your experiences. Any thing notable that I should know?

Hi Jessa

This is what i was on to try and stop my spotting even though i was ovulating myself. It did stop my spotting so that was good, first cycle on it i took 2.5mg on days 4-8 (only because i only got it on CD4) i ovulated a few days earlier than normal but still no bfp, took the same dose again on the following cycle from days 2-6, again ovulated on the same day CD16 and ended in my bfp. I hope it works for you.

Thanks, SarahMelissa! This is my second cycle on letrozole. Still haven't ovulated. OPKs don't seem to be working, nor does my pee machine (CBFM). My temp doesn't show ovulation either. Was just wondering if anyone else at the same experience.
