I always lie on my stomach when sleeping and i also like lying on my stomach when watching the telly (i,e on the sofa) but i am worried that if i got pregnant i would do the baby some harm

Dont worry hun, it wouldnt affect the baby when you get pregnant, its so tiny and tucked away.. and as soon as bubs starts to grow you have no worries anyway cuz you wont be able to lie on your stomach even if you try the sore (.)(.) and growing bump tend to make it quite difficult!

Good Luck! Hope you get your BFP soon

Its true what anababe said. in the first trimester the baby is too small to and is very well cushioned so no harm can come to it and later on it will be impossible even if you tried.. The midwife told me the baby would press on your spine/bloodsupply even if you lie on your back.. great! 6 months on your side!! No wonder pregnant women sleep so crap

To start with the baby will still be tucked down in your pelvis and have so much water around it that it wouldn't even feel a change of pressure.

I still sleep sort of on my stomach now with my leg up so I don't squash him and I'm 32 weeks.

Hi Anita,

I am glad you said that as I still sleep on my front (when I can sleep at all as suffering with really bad sciatica!) and was worried about whether doing any harm but I also do the leg thing and it is really comfortable!!

I was into my 2nd trimester when it became uncomfortable to lay on my stomach. Your body will let you know. I still find myself sleeping on my back as well.
