| Fertile Foods/Supplements Hi Everyone
Just thought i would take this moment to say Hi as i am still New so
Also wondered what everyones views were on Eating certain foods that are supposed to help fertility, or taking supplements etc. ????
For example, i've read that Evening Primrose Oil and Flaxseed Oil help aid the Cervical Mucus (making it more stretchy and abundent etc) but not to take EPO after Ov as it can cause cramps? which could be harmful for implantaion... (where as they say Flaxseed Oil which is rich in Omega 3s is fine to take all through the cycle) They also say that Taking one baby Aspirin per day apparently helps thin the blood to help implantation
Honey Garlic and Chillis are supposed to increase Fertility/sex drive ...
So i just wondered if anyone has heard of any other foods etc that are supposed to help, or if any of you yourselves take certain supplements or eat certain foods to help in TTC??
I have been eating a spoonful of honey a day, and taking a pre-natal Vitamin, as well as a Flaxseed oil capsule per day.... any views??? | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi ya,
I have been told by another member that if the OH drinks coffee before you BD it helps the swim faster. I have heard about the evening primrose oil helping in CM and from the responses on here it has really helped some members and your right about not taking it after Ov. I have read that green tea is good for CM but try decaff green tea coz it dosen't have as much caffeine in it. I was wondering about the spoonful of honey thing myself but haven't tried it yet. I am trying to do it naturally so I don't take supplements I just try and eat healthy and drink my decaff green tea from AF to Ov (haven't noticed anything special yet). Hope this helps. x |

| Various books I've read say green leafy veg (esp spinach); kiwi fruit, eggs and sweet potatoes are ace for fertility. O, and drinking loadsa water, the usual 8 pints a day that they recommend. However, as I've said on here b4, the people I know who have fallen PG straight away eat nothing but crap so I think it's something that's beyond your control. Though I have to agree that being over or under weight can't help. x |

| Hi Ladies
Thanks for all of your responses, its interesting to know that we are all kind of watching what we eat, or eating certain things etc hoping it will boost our chances of conceiving!!! its just nice to know im not alone in this, as my family and friends dont know we are TTC. so its not as though i can talk to them about anything, or ask their opinions etc!!
Thanks again xx | | | | Status: Offline

| I'm just trying to keep my diet well balanced because I tend to not get enough protien and I think I also need more iron in my diet but that's as much health as increasing fertility chances. |

| Thats a good article! and what a great reason to eat more ice cream!! come to think of it, i switched to Semi-skimmed milk about 8 years ago.. and now i cant bear the taste of whole milk.
However, my mum, who drinks whole milk, and has always drunk whole milk, had NO problem falling pregnant when she was in her twenties, and her thirties..... i wonder???? | | | | Status: Offline
