Spotting for 5 days now

I've been keeping a record of my cycles for a few years now and since we started TTC I have started spotting several days before AF arrives. This cycle I have spotted when wiped for 5 days so far. Also last Af was very odd with only one day of full flow. I'm wondering if I should visit my GP as I'm started to get worried that something is not right, it just doesn't seem normal to what I'm used to.

Sorry this part is going to be TMI! This afternoon at about 4pm I though AF had fully arrived as I had quite a bit of blood on my panty liner, I tried to use a tampon but it was really painful and I felt swollen and could not use it so used a pad instead and have had nothing appear on this yet. I've been getting cramps this evening - I feel very confused - has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone else getting spotting for this long before AF? I'm feeling very worried right now

My friend revcently had something like this, in that she was bleeding between periods and cramps. Turns out she had been pregnant but miscarried. I think she had more blood than spotting though. I would seriously go to the doctor though, even just for peace of mind!

I have spotting, up to a week before af. Due to this and long cycles (around 38days) GP thinks possible pcos. Am now awaiting blood test for this. We are all different tho, I'd def visit GP for advice.xx

Miss Monty, Not sure what you mean by spotting but I 'spot' just a tiny amount for often up to 6 days before AF. I was worried about this and mentioned it to my gynae but she didn't seem too concerned. So not really much of an answer I know but if you do find anything out I would be grateful if you would let me know. By the way this month I took Vit B6 in the hope it would help with the spotting. Not started spotting yet as only testing in 9 days but will let you know if it did make a difference this cycle.

Wishing you lots of luck

Hi Rumpskin - I'm feeling much better today (Monday) - Af fully arrived during Saturday night - it's such a pain spotting for days before AF arrives.

Thanks everyone for replying - I was getting myself really worked up on Saturday. I'm going to arrange an appointment with my GP as this is unusal for me xx
