Has anyone been using the CBFM for 6 months +?

Hi, just wondering if anyone out there has been using the CBFM for 6 month plus?

This is our 3rd cycle of using the CBFM - on page 28 of the CBFM booklet it states the following:

'If conception has not been achieved after 6 consecutive cycles or you have other concerns, you should consult your doctor'

Do you think this means that people using the monitor should conceive within 6 cycles? And if the six cycles are over before your first year of TTC I wonder if the GP would help?

What do people think about this?

I’ve been tracking my cycles for the past few years and each year I have 14 cycles.

Thanks in advance x

I dunno. I am not liking my CBFM right now...but just because you are using it and do everything right when you have high and peak readings, doesn't guarantee a pregnancy...If you are concerned that you haven't conceived and it has been a long time, then yeah I would go to the docs most def!!! That is what I am doing

Also, it takes a while for the CBFM to recognize the hormone levels so it can take a couple cycles for it to really start working accurately. But I wouldn't know anything about that as I have not had much luck with mine (but lots of others on here have).

Hiya,

I used mine for nearly 6 months and i actually credit it for getting me pg as according to chart/dates I was to ov 3 days later than the cbfm said.

I have since miscarried (unfortunately) and i have to wait for my first period til I can start using it again, but for me its been really useful. I would also add I've always been very regular so i dont know if that could have been a contributing factor for it working so well for me.

As far as the 6 month mark I am a bit surprised the manual says that as I was aware the advice is to go to a doctor after 6 months ttc if you are over 35, which i am . However, i suppose its good advice anyhow, if you are having no luck and finding it a bit stressful (we all do at one point or another) you can get some answers if you speak to a doctor as opposed to worrying needlessly something might be wrong.

There are loads of statistics on the lenght of conceiving , but as lot of the girlies on here can testify to, it can take some time, unfortunately

Good luck and let us know how you're getting on!
