I'm Currently Feeling: | some help Hi, I lost my baby about 2 week ago I was only 6 weeks. I am feeling okay about everything now and want to start trying again, I know it is quite soon after but I know I still want a baby so much. Anyway I have been so unwell recently and got a tummy bug then got the flu then got a kidney infection and had to be on antibiotics. My question is is it safe to start trying again, will the antibiotics be out of my system as i don't want it to effect anything. My GP said it was safe to start trying for a baby when I want but I forgot to ask about taking the antibiotics. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry for your loss, glad you're feeling better.
My doc has put me on antibiotics for a dodgy ear, and was really strict about continuing contraception until my next period, but am not sure if that's because she just wanted to make sure I'd shaken off the infection before we ttc or what... kidney infections are horrendous! You poor thing, I was really ill a while ago with one, don't they hurt like hell?? | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi, I had an early MC too and know how you feel. I decided not to wait, although I am having a longer cycle than normal. I would say if want to know for sure ring your GP but I found this on the web for you, might be some help?
"Most antibiotics are considered relatively safe-but you should check with the doctor who prescribed them for you. Exceptions to this are tetracycline and minocycline, usually given for acne, that should not be taken." http://www.pregnancyquestionsandansw...-pregnant.html |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry about your loss. I've learnt that some antibiotics are unsafe but my advice is to first check with your GP to be on the safe side.Wishing you good luck.Hope you'll be able to get your BFP as soon as possible. | | | | Status: Offline
