TTC Help!!

Hi there

please please can i get some advice on tracking my darn cycle!? My AF are irregular and can be 31-43days depending on when they feel like it! I am NO good with the temp method as advised by my GP. I am thinking about buying a OPK as this is my 3rd cycle and never seem to get any clues when im OV. Is it right that days 14-20 are your most fertile days?

God i sound like such a plonker!

you dont sound like a plonker dont worrie!
i couldn't get the hang of temp checking-im not a good sleeper- and the cervix checking thing freaked me out so i use/used opks, i bulk buy internet cheapies from ebay (fertilityplan) and test based on how long last cycle was- mine are between 28-30 days with the opks you get a chart that tells you which days to test on.
personally i do two a day at the same time -2.30pm and 9pm everyday

everyones dif some people dont ever get a positve result with opks and they can sometimes be hard to read (i stick mine to a sheet of paper so i can compare)

hope this helps.....

Every woman is different but I went on google and searched for free ovulation calendar. You just put in the first day of your last period in and how long your cycle is and it will calculate when you are fertile. This may not be the best thing for you though where your cycles are off. Or you could just have sex every second day starting after your cycle for one month and then the next month have sex on opposite days. ie: sex day 10,12,14,16... for the first month, then sex days 11,13,15.... the next month. This advice came from my doc. Good luck hun!

I just went through all of this yesterday so I actually know the answer to this one. I looked it up on www.ovulation-calendar.com it's under tools. Anyway, this will help you sort out making the calendar at least. It's not too hard to figure out and I did my own on the PC. Most girls here are using a really advanced chart... I'm not ready yet. It looks too hard and I'm a bit intimidated by it. www.fertilityfriend.com I also did alot of digging to find the most fertil days, as my cycle tends to fluctuate (shorten or lengthen) about every three months or so. Interestly enough I found a few different aswers to this question. The ovulation site listed above gives a formula telling you to take your shortest cycle in the past seven months and subtract 18 from the total number of days. ie: 28-18=10 then you take that ten count 10 days out from the first day of your cycle. This should be your "O" day. Then I read in one of my planning books that it's usally in the middle of the cycle. So just divide in half.
Then you read some of the posts here and you'll see that everyone is different. I've decided to buy a kit and a therm. Cause my AF seems to change her mind on a whim too. I'm covering all the bases.
Hope this helps.
See ya around!

my cycles have ranged from 24-36 days over the past 6 months, i thoguth they had settled but havn't with my last AF being 34days and the previous 2 31days. Anyway. I had no idea when i ovulated and starting temping, which has helped identify why im not getting pg despite lots of trying, lol. Temping will definately help you understand when you ovulate. have you been off bcp long?
