i no it may seem it now but you still have hope. Having an answer also means that if you need it they can also treat the problem. I was diagnosed with pcos and with having 2 blocked tubes last november. I was told i would never conceive, not even with meds as my tubes would not release an egg. So i went on the waiting list for ivf which i was due to have my 1st appointment this month. Im currently 27 weeks pregnant and i had no help at all. I didnt even think i ovulated and they wouldnt check as they said with my tubes it would not matter. You have more hope than i had. Please try and stay positive. Plus what a lovely fiance you have, he's gonna be there all the way.

I saw the bit about miscarriage being higher in pcos. This can be true as sometimes our body does not produce enough progesterone . This is what maintaines a pregnancy intill the placenta takes over. One of the signs is spotting in early pregnancy. I spotted and my doctor would not even check. If low progesterone is notied eary enough you can take a supliment that is often sucsessful. My horrible doctor would not check and i was convinced after a miscarriage 3 years before that this was gonna happen again. But in my case that was not the case. So maybe that is a question you can ask your doctor when you see them. If when you do conceive they will check those levels.

Its a rubbish situation to be in cause its hard for us to be pregnant and then there are more worrys. But direct these worrys to your doctor and theyt will tell yoiu what to watch out for or what can be done if things dont seem to be going right. I cant help with your new question as i never had an appointment about my pcos as they didnt see a point. I have wondered if there are different types of pcos as i had my hormones checked 1st and they showed no signs of pcos biut when i was scanned they where pcos. Im sure i saw someone on here who showed it in the hormones but didnt have the cycsts and then there are others who have both. So maybe thats another question you can ask. make a note of any questions you have. Its easy to be upsett and confused in these apoointments and you leave more confused and kicking yourself.

bird2be1 it depends on a million things. my FS wouldn't put me on anything after my diagnosis in nov but scheduled me in to see another fs in March so I would have been waiting in limbo til then. But fortumately my GP couldn't see the point in leaving me stuck, eggless for 5 months so he got me straight on Metformin. And I am now 7dpo. Although my chart looks pants so this ain't my month!

Best of luck and thanks littleblonde - a truly inspiring story. xxx

My GP wouldnt give me anything, he referred me and i had the unltrasound and found out re pcos, i am mild just as my bloods go but i have the old follicles on my ovaries which arent developing each month to produce a nice healthy egg.. (i.e long cycles) and no other symtons!!

My gyno ran loads of blood tests, ultrasound, hsg tubes all clear before giving me a sniff of clomid i just got that and started taking it.. Gyno didnt wanna give me met just try me on the clomid at 50mg and go from there!!

I hear some ladies get meds off there doctor like clomid without even seeing a gyno but i think its more better to be referred to a speclist who works in ttc area who be able to carry out any tests needed..

My gyno said she doesnt give clomid until hsg been done, as be no point in clomid if you have problems with your tubes.. however loads of ladies on here been given clomid and not had a HSG done.

Hi there, I have had PCOS for about 7 yrs and finally had something done about it. After TTC for over a yr I was referred to a FS. 4 weeks ago I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and ovarian drilling (I know it sounds scary!). My tubes are all fine luckily, but he carried out the ovarian drilling in order to lower my testosterone and bring all of the other hormone sinto check. I was not ovualting on my own. I then took provera for seven days and then on CD 2-6 i took 50mg clomid. I am currently into CD18, but unfortunately no sign of ovulation. i have my 21 day blood test on monday.

PCOS is a scary thought, but seven yrs later I am now more hopeful!! Everything will be fine for you I'm sure of it.

Don't give up hope....There is always something they can do...I AM PROOF!!
Sending hugs. x
