First response Pregnancy Test

Hi all

Im just curious to hear your opinions on these, on the packaging they claim you can test 6 days before AF is due... but i find that a little hard to believe.

I know it varies from person to person, but when do you think they can be used to test with some degree of accuracy?.

Also, im curious wether people think these tests are better than say superdrug tests... which claim to be useable 4 days before AF, yet can detect the same amount of hormone?

Thanks.

I always got a + on a superdrug WAY before anything else!! BUT a word of caution...having had a chemical last month, its not worth early testing...too much heartache! id wait til AF is due. xx

You can still have a mc! I had a mc in oct at 6-7 weeks, I didnt test until I missed my period which was 2 days late and got a neg, I didnt get a positive until 9 days after af was due and a week later had a mc.

^yes, but the statistics are higher for chemicals. at least 50% of all first time pregnancies end as a chemical. im sorry for your loss, ryder.

I recently tested at 9dpo with a FRER and got a very strong positive, but the pregnancy ended the following day.

I used first response two times with my most recent pregnancy (both pregnancies have ended in MC) - I got a positive 4 days before AF was due, and even though the line was faint, is was def there. Then I tested again a few days later and got bright pink line, so it def does work at least 4 days before.
I agree with the other girls though, having had 2 pregnancies end in MC, I think it is better to wait. I know you can miscarry at any time but I just don't think its worth the extra stress. Just my two cents worth.
Good luck!

xoxo

Thanks for all the comments and advise, we got a BFN this morning at 10 dpo...with a FRER

All the signs pointed to a positive so both a bit gutted... but 10dpo is far from conclusive?

Thinking we should wait at least 2 days to retest now.

I didn't get my BFP untill 13DPO when I had a chemical.

I got my BFP at 10DPO this time so I'm hoping it doesn't end the same way.

I think the chances of getting a BFP if you're pregnant on a FRER 6 days early is like 68%, which is nearly only 50/50
