Yes it's called basal body temperature, your body's temp as soon as you wake up (you aren't supposed to move or talk really before you take it, my hubby sticks the thermometer in my mouth in the morning lol) - after you 'O' your temp usually rises and stays above a certain number (the numbers vary as every women is different) - usually I think they say if you temp stays up for 18 consistent days after you ovulate you are likely pg. anyone else feel free to add or correct me if I have missed anything as I only started temping last cycle!

I would imagine that a digital would work, but you would have needed to know you temp before you started, like when you were on your period. Please correct me if I am wrong. I think you need to know your bodys temp at the beginning of your cycle to determine whether or not it has risen and stayed that way. You know what I mean? Have you called your doctor yet to see if they can do some blood work? Also when you do temp, you have to do it the same time every morning before you do anything else! I set my alarm every morning at 630 am and take it. I hope that helps. Good luck and please call you doctor and get that test done and you will have a better idea of what is going on. Good luck and keep us posted!

i had been taking my temperature for a yr & a half , you start taking your temp the 1st day of your peroid as it will be quite low untill you ovulate then it will rise , & if you fall pregnant your temp will stay high but if not your temp will drop down again before your peroid starts , you could try a website that i used & im still on it now as there is some nice people on there & if you plot your temp on there everyday it will tell you when you have ovulated it even gives you tests days that it thinks you should test if your peroid dosen,t turn up , a digital one is fine as thats what i used the website is called , www.fertilityfriend.co.uk

(26 months ttc till i got my bfp since coming of depo )
