How long before and after ovulation are we supposed to bd?

My friends are saying various things, but I was wondering what you guys all thought? One friend says 5 days before and 5 days after o. That is, guessing when O is, without a kit.

ideally, 3,2,1 days before, day of & day after for good measure. 5 days before or after wouldn't do anything!

You should ovulate 14days after your period if you have a regular cycle of you could test your tempriture every morning and wait for it to peak that means you will be ovulation i think.. got that of my nurse so think i get it all right lol hope this helps you!.

My specialist told me last week when discussing dates, that is VERY unlikely you would get pregnant AFTER ovulation. I BD everyday from day 10 (I ov on 14) through to 15. I have tried this 3 times only....got pregnant 3 times. sadly 2 were MCs but im hoping now it 3rd time lucky! xx

I don't think i wrote that right! She said, to bd for 5 days before and after O, so for 10 days. I think she said that because she was guessing when she was ovulating, so if it was later, they would still catch it. That just seemed like a lot.

Hopefully we'll all catch really quickly!! We agreed to just play around until Jan, and then if nothing we will try harder. Meaning trying to calculate better, maybe temp, who knows. Good vibes for a quick start!

I would say 3 days before, day of and after too. My doc said to abstain days 2 & 3 after because it is too late and if you did catch there is an increased risk of ectopic (which I am concerned about obviously). Of course that only helps if you temp so you know when to stop.

Your temp peaks after ovulation, so if you waited till your temp peaks you would be to late. You need to be having sex leading up to ovulation.
