Have just joined fertility friend - help have a question!!

Hi guys

Have just joined FF and have a question about recording BBT.

It says to do this at the same time every morning give or take 15 minutes. I get up different times during the week i.e. some morning I go to the gym, some mornings I don't and I lie in at the weekends without setting the alarm!!

What do you guys do? Do you actually have to set your alarm regardless just to take your temperature?

I usually get up between 6.10-6.45 week days but would hate to have to get up at the time weekend. Plus would be hard to get back to sleep after waking and doing something!!

Second question re: BBT. Is 37oc standard and how much lower/higher does it go. Is it only . something?

Thanks!

Hi Minime. I set my alarm for 6am every day and wake up for a few mins to take temp, then either get up, or go back to sleep. My thermometer keeps a record of that days temps so I don't have to write it down or anything. You will soon get into the habit of it I promise.

PS - Are you ttc or pg? Your ticker confused me!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear of you recent loss. Its heartbreaking isn't it. We weren;t trying when I found out i was pg in August but miscarried in Sept. We were so excited about having a baby that it made sense to start TTC and was lucky enough to fall pg immediately after MC but lost that in Nov. Still waiting to ov now myself! If you need any charting help then let me know as I am addicted to temping, peeing, cervix checking, saliva testing - you name it and I've probably already done it today!!

How about you?

Hun am so sorry, it is absolutely devasting. I had a chemical in May too . This will be my first so am hopign no long term issues. Do you have any or is this your first?

I have only been doing OPKs so am new to this hold charting thing though I do have a thermometre that I bought but then feel pregnant so never used.

I will have loads of questions lol!!

a) How does your OH react to you setting the alarm early every day of the week lol
b) I just tried to check my cervix but haven't a notion what I am doing. I think I could reached it and it felt like a curved soft area? Don't think it was too difficult to reach!

Thanks for you help and replies!!

Hi minime. My OH is fine about the alarm setting. He works shifts as he is policeman so he is either up at 5.30am to start at 7, or on lates which start at 4, or on nights so its only a few days a week he even hears it. As I said, you kind of get used to it going off so I am very adept at turning it off sharpish!

As for the cervix checking - I found this hard at first. I have a TMI answer for you though. I check mine in the shower each morning so I put one foot up on the side of the bath. Ready for the TMI?? Here goes - I use my forefinger and at the back of the vaginal canal I can feel a sort of round, pokey out bit. I can only feel it easily when its low, but I can feel whether its open or not. Sounds gross. I am not an anatomy wizard so kind of thought it would be flat and not poking out (like your nose does) but thats what I feel! As I get more fertile it gets harder to reach and more open.

I hope that helps, and so sorry for the icky info! Best of luck, and feel free to add me as a friend if you need any more disturbingly graphic answers!!
