Hi

I have a heart shaped uterus too, when I was pregnant with my first daughter I felt she was getting stuck and I was having contractions, sadly the day I had her at 24 weeks the dr told me I wasn't in labour and by the time I got to the hopital labour was very advanced. Sadly she was stillborn.
During my second pregnancy they labelled me an anxious mother but i knew she too was getting stuck and causing contractions, I hang on to her till 35 weeks when she got stuck during labour and i had a c-section and they discovered my uterus was the wrong shape. She's fine and I had my son at 36weeks (he was positioned the other side of my uterus).

I'm currently trying to conceive no 4 and I'm more confident that I know my body and I will not be fobbed off, in the 2nd + 3rd pregnacies I was admitted probably each week with contractions that would eventually stop but i was closely mointored and was given steriods to help with the babies lungs in case I delivered early. I have friend who has the same conditoin, she sadly had a stillborn baby before they knew about her uterus, but now has 2 healthy girls. I think knowing what's wrong helps and as you say you have an advantage because you know before getting pregnant.

i'm still high risk, probably higher because i'm 38 but I have 2 healthy gorgeous kids with me and will hopefully have another one

Good luck

xxxxxxxxx

Suckisam - thanks for letting me know your story.

Yeah I find you get that quite a lot, they classing you as 'anxious' - before I had my 3rd miscarriage I was back and forth to the hospital like mad and a heartbeat would only put my mind at ease for that day...but in the end I was right to be 'anxious'!! Like you are I know my body and won't be fobbed of and have already been told I'll be under the care of 2 consultants with my next pregnancy and will need a c-section.

I really hope you get your BFP again soon and get the care you deserve with your next pregnancy.....xxx

Hi everyone. We met for the first time with a fertility specialist today and I was told I have a heart shaped uterus. I'm not sure the extent, but believe the septum doesn't go too far down. He suggested surgery to go in and snip the septum. It was described as an outpatient procedure similar to a d&c. He was nice and said we're not making any decisions today and encouraged me to go home and google the condition and read up lots on that. So that's exactly what I'm doing.

We've been ttc for 15 mos and have had 2 miscarriages, that's what led us to see the specialist.

It's nice to hear from others with similar conditions, I knew this board would offer a great deal of support and advice.

Good luck to all with this condition and here's wishing us extra baby dust and super sticky glue to the right part of the uterus!!!

i have a complete septum right down the uterus and also a vaginal septum and i also have 2 cervix and 2 vaginal canals. i also have pcos.

removing my septum would be far too much of a difficult procedure so i have been told to go and try naturally for year, i am on cycle 5 with all bfn so far

this month i am feeling lucky but have been looking for a bit of advice. i work between a 33 and 40 day cycle its never really the same any month.

ive not had very much cervical mucus this month but one day last week when iw iped i got a huge creamy coloured blob , a bit the rest of that day and that was it.

can anyone tell me when i can test?

also has anyone got a complete septum and managed to have a baby

hey clairibell- i don't have a complete septum bu tit is possible to have a baby with one. you just have to be careful that you don't get pregnant in one side, then in the other 3 months later!
