So where do I start? My fiance and I are WTT. I am on BCP and have been for 3 months. I had been on BCP for 7 months prior but went on a 2 month break from it as it was making me depressed. My cycles are 28 days and my pills are 21. We do not use other protection it just isn't comfortable for us. Okay this is where it gets a little complicated I had AF on January 23rd to about the 29th my AFs are regular always the same time every month and always the same flow and usually always a week long. My friend started her AF the same day and is on the same cycle..she is TTC and did a Ovulation Calendar and found out her fertile days were the 4th to the 6th of February and Ovulation was the 7th...which means it was the same for me. Now, I missed 3 pills and 2 happen to be on the "fertile" days but I didnt know that until she told me. I didnt think much of it but then the 18th I had a "light" period...it was only3 days and was not the usual flow. I just brushed it off and my pills were done the week before. I started my BCP again the week after AF as I usually would but now Im having light spotting again!! I dont know what is wrong!! My friend told me that ovulation is about 2 wks after your last period and that implantation could be between 7 and 14 days after ovulation. So the dates could be about that. Im not having pregnancy symptoms and Im not showing which I know could be normal because if I am I would only be 4wks + Has anyone ever had a weird AF 2 wks into their BCP?? Im a little scared and a little worried and not really sure if all of this is normal. If anyone can give me some ideas,opinions or advice that would be great!! Thanks!!

Umm, well ive never been preg but am ttc so fro all that ive read on here and know myself i would say youre right looking at those dates it looks like youve missed two pills around when you may have ovulated and ive heard of people getting preg whilst on the pill but who have just missed a couple etc but then again its usually stuill in your system so whether you have or not is difficult to say. The fact that youve noticed irregular bleeding could be implantation bleeding so why dont you do a test?? I would, to put your mind at ease, go get one of the clear blue digis and do a test with your first morning urine and see what ya get, otherwise go see your doc and see what he/she suggests. The BCP messed my periods up like crazy...loads of weird things happened!!!
However as Franjipan has suggested, do a CB Digi with FMU!! Then u will get your answer!


I mean the BCP messed my cycles up when I came off it....they were all over the place for about a year!!!

Thanks Ladies, I have been on BCP for about a year now and it has never messed up my cycle at all, this is why Im a little bit worried about this one. Needless to say OH and I would be more than excited, just not something we were trying for. But we can do it. He already knows about all this and is taking it more than perfectly. So glad I have him to go through it with <3

In a nutshell if you dont take the pill exactly as prescribed then you may have unexpected spotting/bleeding and indeed you may also get pregnant. Your cycles will be regular on the pill - thats the 'beauty' of the pill - but what the girls are saying is when you stop taking the pill your cycle may take a while to settle into a 'normal' pattern.

The only way to know is to test!

Take a test, I was 9 weeks preg before I found out with my son, and I was on the BCP at the time !
