AF or not?

So I had my mirena iud taken out last Wednesday and the dr. told me that I should wait to start trying until after my first AF came.

So Saturday I was so excited when I noticed that I was bleeding...but now I am not so sure that I can count it as AF or not..

This part might be a little tim...sorry...
Saturday I had bright red blood, not too much but enough to wear a pad and it covered the toilet paper when ever I wiped.

Then Sunday it was all brown old blood. Saturday and Sunday I had Horrible cramps! Then today I have some cramping and so far no blood...

I'm very impatient and dont wan to wait to start trying but it seems like maybe that doesnt actually count as AF..

What do you think? Do you think I need to wait still?

Ooooo its hard to wait isnt it?!

If it was bright red then you would expect that it was af. Did the doc give you a reason why you have to wait for af after the removal, Im not familar with the coils sorry? Or was it simply so you could track your cycle?

She didnt say why I needed to wait. (Except she said that way I would have time to start taking vitamins...but I started taking vitamins before I got the iud taken out already anyway) But I have read that sometimes they tell you to wait because the iud can thin out your uterus and AF will help to thicken it back up and be better prepared to support a baby.

Its tough to wait because I have been wanting to start trying for quite a while now, but finally convinced my OH that we should have one more. That and he hates wearing condoms so he really doesnt want to do that either...

I thought for sure it was AF with the horrible cramps and since it was bright red, but since the bright red only lasted for the first day then it turned to brown I wasnt really sure...

Ugh! I dont want to wait but I also want to make sure that I am doing what will be best for the future baby.

i think it would work the same as any other type of birth control...the first bleeding you have after stopping is just withdrawl bleeding. i would say the next time you bleed (which could be anything up to 6 weeks) will be your af... then you can start trying - thats if you want to take the doctors advice of course!!..other than that people can conceive right away if they begin ovulating right away and go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies

I would also recommend red raspberry leaf tea because it helps 'exercise' the uterus so it will contract properly and get rid of any old lining and then pump lots of blood round to make a cusjy new lining for your baby

Used it this cycle and had a decent period instead of spotting and dribs and drabs I normally have. Good luck. x

2016, how much red raspberry leaf tea did you drink? I saw a fertility specialist today and in addition to being told I have a heart shaped uterus, he also said my uterine lining was thin for cycle day 12. I've been having spotting for a few days prior to period and just developed mid cycle bleeding the other day (not ovulation or implantation bleeding).
