My temps are all over the place! First month TTC - how much does temp go up in OV??!

Hi i'm on CD6 TTC our first little bundle of joy and my temps r all over the place!...
CD1 I had AF lasting just a day, after stopping the pill (so I think it may have messed my first TTC cycle up) on CD1 my temp was 36.8, quite high I thought. Later in the day I developed flu symptoms & felt awful! CD2 my temp was 37.0, And I knew by then I had tonsilitus...
I had a day of feeling ill which I know was the reason for high temp. CD3 my temp was 36.5, going down to normal... CD4 & 5 it rested at 36.4 so I thought phew I can now watch for a rise at OV time.
However, today it has shot up to 36.6. I have taken it at the same time every morning before moving or even speaking (DB is sound asleep still lol) so what is going on?!

I'm new to this so was wondering how much your BBT has to rise to indicate OV??? Mines gone up 2 tenths on only CD6 and I've read some sites that say the slightest rise indicated it goes above the cover line.

Sorry if this post has seemed confusing! Hope someone can help I don't yet know my regular cycle as I've just come off BCP's, am I just getting too impatient? :-S
xxx

Hi hun! Are you charting with FF - much easier to talk about it when you can see it lol!

Anyway, you need 3 temps in a row that average more than the average of the previous temps in order to confirm ov. It's not unusual to get the odd day with a weird temp - that's why you should wait till you've got 3 days of high temps. At cd6 it probably isn't ov, unless you have very short cycles (like 20 days).

Have you got a link to your chart?

Some non-ov related fluctuations are normal.

The only thing I would say is, are you using a BBT thermometer? I have only used a normal digital one before (only one decimal place) and have now switched to a BBT one (with 2 decimal places). They are better as they are more accurate and pick up temp differences more accurately.
