BBT....?

So i've decided that i want to start tracking my BBT... and i'm wondering what exactly the difference is with a basal thermometer.

Google pretty much says its a thermometer that has 1/10 degrees... i have a digital thermometer that shows two decimal places.. 1/100 degrees, i think...

is there any other special-ness to a basal thermometer?

i think the differece is for example a normal thermometer tell you 36.7 a basal one has an extra decimal point so would say 36.72. The extra decimal point is important when charting
