| negative tests but not sure Hi all
Well I joined this forum because there seem to be a lot of very knowledgeable people on here! I hope someone can help...Im not sure "trying to conceive" is the right label so much as "wondering if I have". Obviously I realise that everyone here is hoping very much for a baby and I dont quite fit into the same category (it would be a pretty scary thing for me!) but I would really appreciate some of the fantastic advice given to lots of the other women here!
I had been wondering if I could be pregnant the past week - actually worrying about it would probably be a better word because if I am its by my now ex-boyfriend which would obviously not be ideal.
The days on which I believe I might have conceived are 14th February or 16th February when I THINK I was around day 14-16 of my cycle (due to a short stay in hospital for a minor op I stopped taking the pill and then didnt start back on it when I came out) On this basis I think my AF was due this week but I havent come on just yet. I did one of those "first response" tests on Tuesday morning, and then another one just now and both came back negative. The thing that had made me wonder if I could be was that a) I had some pretty vivid dreams about having babies the last couple of weeks (very flimsy I know) b) Ive had some random bouts of nausea and been super exhausted and then c) this week I had AF type pains, firstly on Tuesday morning and then all day Thursday but no sign of AF herself. Of course I turned to google and I found lots of stuff that said this type of cramping is common at the start of pregnancy. BUT of course the tests were negative. So can I just stop worrying now and assume Im not? My ex has been really good about this - ive been pretty emotional about it, and he has listened to me worrying about it all week (obviously having a baby with an ex would be FAR from ideal!) but now he has gone to Canada and he wants me to call and let him know when I do, but I dont know if I should tell him no definitely not yet!
Argh...I should stop my babbling.....basically any one with an opinion welcome to contribute!
Thanks

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi hun,
Welcome to b&b!
Your symptoms can be a sign of pregnancy, but they can also be a sign of AF. There still could be a chance you are pregnant, so wait a few days and test again.
I hope you get the result you want x | | | | Status: Offline

You may be pregnant or your cycle my be stuffed up due to the operation, not taking your pills right and the stress of splitting up/worrying about being pregnant.
I'd wait 2 more days and test again. No point analysising the symptoms in your case IMO as I think it will do you more harm than good as its clearly making you worried hun.
fingers crossed for a happy outcome for you. Keep us posted and try not to worry - throw yourself into the weekend and then see what happens next week.

| When taking the pill, it ensures that you have regular cycles, so your body and hormones gets used to the pill doing this work instead of doing it itself. When you stop taking the pill, your hormones become interupted and your body becomes confused, which in turn affects the regularity of your periods.
Yes it could be very possible that you are prgnant, but its also possible that your body is just confused and you period is delayed.
I was on the pill for 8 years, when i came off i had a normal period, then a two month break, etc.
Period symptons and early pregnancy symptons are very similar to eachother, and id say the test (although not always correct) is more than likely accurate.
I hope you get the result you wish for

| Hi
Thanks for the replies...
I guess maybe im being far too impatient. Ive never been 2 good about taking the pill tho - I tend to do weird things like 1.5 packs, or 2 packs or even 1.467 packs (well you get the idea) so Id imagine my body has never really managed to work out what the hell its supposed to do! (I know this is very bad in terms of knowing where I stand, but my doctor reassured me it wouldnt do me any actual harm!)
More weak AF like cramps today, still no signs of anything remotely like AF itself... And my breasts are a bit swollen now as well! Lets hope this is me coming on. Im being much calmer about it (I have been rather freaked out all week) so if its stress thats delaying me then maybe this will fix it! I just hate the not being 100% certain thing...ladies on here deserve medals for all the patience (have been scrolling through other posts)
Cheers for getting back to me anyway girls, was just really good to get it all out!! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | If you dont take the pill as prescribed then you've no chance of really knowing where you are in your cycle.
Good luck tho and I hope you find out one way or another soon. x | | | | Status: Offline
