You require testing before a dr will prescribe. They will want to see that you are not ovulating on your own at the very least before its considered. Some will also want a lap and dye to check that your tubes are clear. Its not a quick fix, or randomly prescribed on a whim!

I've started clomid this month, 50mg CD2-6 for unexplained infertility. I'm 35 and our consultant told me that although I ovulate regularly on my own, clomid will help the eggs to be more mature and help me produce multiple eggs too. We had all the tests including checking my tubes were clear, and they all came back perfectly normal.

Hoping it works for us and all you guys too

Crypto, hope you doing ok hun. I didn't realise you got your within 2 months of taking clomid! That's amazing! x

A lot of people mean by "working" they mean "get pregnant", but its purpose is to make you ovulate.

I was pregnant within 2 cycles, however I ovulated on my own anyway......X
this gives me hope!! i started this 1st cycle of 50mg clomid on days 2-6 really hopeful & excited & the last few days have been thinking that yes the follicular scan showed i had a good size follicule that def did ovulate but from bloodtests i had done in jan 09 & aug 09 it appeared that i ovulated then too....so im now strting to think maybe the clomid hasnt done anythig different....but it must of helped you crypto1976 if u were ovulating anyway b4 the clomid....xx

I think its difficult to say. I did feel ovualtion more than normal, however I wasnt going to get a third cycle. The FS decided to put it on hold until after the removed my remaining fallopian tube....I also think I relaxed becuase of it! I think that played a part too.

I guess if I have twins, I will put that down to clomid!

I also felt amazing on clomid! Good luck everyone trying it! XXX
