to chart or not to chart?!

Hi all
I'm trying to have another baby with my hubby, he's 32 and I'm 37 (38 tommorrow!!). He had a vasectomy reversal in May 09 and his sperm tests were ok so we're now officially trying!
I conceived my first 2 babies in the 1st month (with a different partner) and my hubby and I made our son on the 4th month ttc but I was younger then (he's 6).
We really want another baby, I'm trying to loose weight and am eating healthy food and have cut down on alcohol only drinking 1-2 month. He's taking multi-vitamins with zinc to help his sperm. He's very healthy and doesn't drink or smoke and is annoyingly fit!! I'm thinking about charting and have just set up a chart with FF (have ordered a bb thermometer), I'm worried it's going to be incredibly unsexy, the thermometer beeping every morning and me only being a vamp on set days a month!!
Does anyone eslse chart and is it ok?
Here's hoping we all get ASAP
xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I havenīt started charting either, but I heard that its supposed to be good.

Iīm still waiting for my period to come, because my periods are irregular.

Hi, I chart and I recommend it. My periods are not always regular and it helps me to know when/if I ovulate so I'll know if to expect a late period or if I should get excited!! I've just got into a routine with it and I do it automatically, I set it for an early time (like 5:00am) and on weekends just take the temp and go back to sleep or whatever...

BTW, I'm 34 and TTC#1 with other issues too so I've found it really helpful. Maybe you can try it for a month or two and see how it goes.

Hi

I really recommend it. Amoungst other things, it allows you to pinpoint your most fertile time, proves that you are ovulating and when (after the event unfortunately) and if you are likely to be pregnant (just wait for 18 raised temps before you POAS - although I can never wait that long lol). I bought "Taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler which made me realise how useful FAM is.

Good luck and lots of to you xx

I do it. They don't even hear the thermometer mate and it's a great way of making sure everything is ok with your cycle too! xxx

Im 41 and I do it because there a fewer windows of opportunity left for me! I want to make sure I give us the best chance every month. DH doesnt even hear the beeps, he's still sleeping! He's aware that Im charting so he knows the times when it down to business, but I dont make it a chore and yeah well he's a male so he likes the sex, Im pretty okay with it all too!

if any of this helps: my mum had me when she was 38/39 and my lil sis in her early 40s. Conception no problem - but she said, due to her age, that she made herself lead a very healthy lifestyle and took good quality suppliments throughout both pregnancies.

added to this....i chart because i have massively irregular cycles and it just keeps my mind at rest that i do ovulate (even if it takes forever) and don't start panicking when af is 'late'! DH doesn't mind a bit although we tend to try and have sex on a pretty regular basis (about 2 times a week) and according to some NHS thingy i read today, sperm can live in you for up to seven days and if you bd 2 to 3 times a week there is a very high chance that when you ov the little spermies will be there, ready and waiting!

good luck xxx
