Newbie and spotting after agnus castus

Hi girls,

This is the first time i've posted but have been lurking around for the past couple of weeks, thought it was time I said Hi!

I'm Jo and I'm 30 with a little boy who is 3 1/2.

We are ttc #2 and have had 5 cycles now. In Sept had a very early mc and since charting ov think I have a short LP (only 10 days) so started agnus castus 2 days ago. I was already on cd5 (now on cd7) when I started taking it and usually stop af before the 6th day. I'm still spotting quite heavily which I can only put down to the a/c. I don't know whether to stop it now before it gets worse or to see if it settles down.

Any advice welcome!
Jo x

I thought the Agnus Castus is for regulating your periods. B-50 or B-100 complex is useful for lenghening your luteal phase.
Have you researched agnus castus? Ive read it's not for everyone, be careful with it, you don't wanna be making things worse!!

I've also heard the AC is for regulating periods. I was tempted after a 52 cycle last month and this month I'm 68 ish. I did research it and I was kind of put off, but thats only my opinion. I think it works differently on everyone.

If you think it's not working for you, I'd stop it. Try Vitamin B-50 or 100 complex - I use the Holland & Barratt Timed Release B-100 ones as my LP has been between 8 + 11 days. It will give you neon yellow wee, so if you us ethem, don't panic! You can use them all through your cycle and pregnancy (apparently B-vits are prescribed for morning sickness). There's a great (huge!) thread on here called B6 - Lengthen Luteal Phase or Increase Progesterone. Really useful and full of advice.

my af isn't mega irregular but tends to be between 28 - 32 so thought it might help. I also take starflower oil to help with my skin as after having my son I started with acne, I knew the AC was good for that too.

I also started vit b6 this month but think its the wrong one as everyone keeps mentioning complex?? I've read and read thru so many posts I don't know what to think with these herbal/vits thing anymore.

so what is the right stuff to be taking?

I would step awy from the AC, it can actually mess up your hormones, delay O and can wreak havoc on your cycle, it has its place and can work on some women, but not to lengthen your lp. Stick with the B6, a 10 day lp is perfectly acceptable for conception so I wouldnt worry about it too much at all, anything under 10 is considered not viable. Do you temp at all, how are you working out your lp?

well the spotting stopped yesterday after posting on here, think may stop the AC if its gonna cause more harm than good, the starflower oil should at least help my skin anyway. I have 20mg a day of normal vit b6, and bought some 50mg ones in case I don't see any difference. Is that enough?

I have been using clearblue ov tests. Thanks for your replies
