A couple of questions

Hi everyone I wasn't sure where to put this as I'm not currently tying to conceive but thought this was the best place. I was just wondering when woman ovulate as not long after my period ended last month and this month I've had like pmt symptoms tummy ache, pelvic pain and crampy. Can you get this with ovulation?

Also if you have unprotected sex just before your period is due is it likely you can get pregnant? If so will you still get your period and miss the next one or will you miss them all?

Many thanks for your answers

Lynda

The best thing you can do to know when you ovulate is to get some ovulation test strips or an ovulation monitor.
I wouldn't think its likely to result in a pregnancy when having sex just before your period, but if you dont know when you are ovulating, you cant be certain.

You could try doing a temperature chart, which will tell you when you have ovulated, so you can get to know your cycle. I use fertlityfriend.com. If you register with them (free) they'll e-mail you a series of tutorials with all the info you need to know what you're doing once you start ttc. Have a squizz at my chart - there's a link in my signature.
In order to know when you're going to ovulate you can use ovulation kits, a fetility monitor or check you cervical mucous and cervix position. The tutorials from fertilityfriend will tell you all about it.

Hi Lynda!

You can get those sort of symptoms with ov. Some women get them before ov, some during and some even after.... and of course, some not at all! So if you are getting them shortly after your period then chances are they are pre-ov symptoms.
It is HIGHLY UNLIKELY you wld get preg just before your period because there wld be no time for the little bean to implant before your uterus starts to shed its lining. I am sure there are exceptions but I wld say there's zero to very little chance of it happening.... UNLESS of course you ovulate later than you expected to, which in turn moves up the expected period date and wham(!) your preg, in which case you would miss that very next period that you were expecting. Hope this helps hun!!

Hi thank you for your advice. I went to the drs today for something else and asked him about the cramps and pain and he asked if I could be pregnant i said I don't think so, what do you think? Me and my partner use condoms but have used the withdrawel method over this past month but I did have what I assumed was my period last week although it was a few days late. Is it poss?

Thank u

Lynda

Counting from the first day of your last period, what cycle day would you be on now?

Ive never had cramps when I've ovulated before so it's new and just started this week so I'm a bit lost.
