Worried about egg quality from late ovulation (just one more thing!)

If there's ALWAYS one more thing to worry about, I always seem to find it.
I've been stressed because I don't know if I O'ed and now I'm thinking, at CD 24 today, that if I ovulate this late, maybe I shouldn't even try to get pregnant.
I read in a couple places that if you ovulate after CD20, the egg quality might be compromised and it could end up in MC, anyway! My first pregnancy, I ovulated at CD 17, but with the 2nd it was CD 32 and now I'm wondering if the MC was because the egg was too "mature" or something.

Any thoughts on this? Have you gotten pregnant from a late ovulation (like after CD 23) and had it stick??

Thanks!

I have never heard of this. What would be the scientific basis for thinking that the egg quality would be poor?

I haven't read any of the scientific literature on it and, for my mental health, probably won't! I just saw a couple of these website Dr. Q&A sites where the Drs had mentioned that ovulating after CD 20 might compromise quality because the follicle is set up to mature for a particular cycle and if it matures like a week longer than that, it somehow becomes less healthy.
I shouldn't have brought it up--it's too much to think about, and I don't even know if this is a widely-accepted idea! Sorry!

I googled lots on this. I really dont think it matters. The egg pops out when its ready! some people have long cycles some have short. It does however matter if you ov on day 24 and get AF on day 28...no implantation time!! its the time after Ov that matters so DONT STRESS....google is the devil in disguise!!!

Yep, that's what I was going to say. The importsant thing is to have a luteal phase of at least 10 days. Hoping I've not given you something else to worry about! There's tons of info on here about luteal phase - or ask me.

I'm going to try not to think about it anymore! I always have luteal phases of exactly 14 days, so hopefully, that's all that matters.
Thanks, yall

ha ha, not funny but I have been going through the same anxiety.....because I worry I ovulate too early. I have read that early ovulation increased risk of miscarrying. I ovulated at cd10 when it happened to me, so here we go. Can we order ovulation at cd14 please!!!
