My doc said she wont help me until I've been trying for 2 years and that temping etc is a waste of time and to 'just relax and it would happen'. This was after I told her we only have one try a month with the donor. Bloody incompetent she is.

I also went in with 12 positive pregnancy tests last month to get it confirmed and she didn't look at them, and told me to go home and come back in a month 'because this is the time most people miscarry'. And I did. 2 days later. I'm changing docs.

Bloody hell - what a heartless woman. I thought mine was a bit off, but as I left she did say, she hoped to see me again very soon with some good news, so that cheered me up as I left.

I'd have changed docs as soon as she said she wouldn't help until you've been trying 2 year! That's just stupid!

Good luck finding a new doc x

My doctor is a total twat so have lost all confidence in them until I find one who is actually competent. Told me when when I was late and then had really strange bleeding that I was either pg and not showing on test, not pg or that there was every posibility I'd had early mc, 'they are very common you know' he said. 'see what happens next month'

That really narrowed it down. (I'm quite sure my cat would have been more helpfull if she could talk!!)

I left in a state of shock and by the time I got home I was in a right old state.

So I shall be asking my current doctor..... erm........ NOTHING!!

My doctor is quite and said that ov tests are good to use so you know you are having sex at the right time. I have had blood tests and just waiting to hear DH results. The first dr I saw said to have sex at least twice a week which i personally don't think is enough!

The thing is everyone had something to say about all of this! My mum went to the docs to ask how to get a girl and was told to only have sex on the 11th day of her cycle and no other day! and she got me! not sure if that was just a fluke though!!! lol xx

I went to my doc this morning about my long cycles and he said charting my temps and CM is a good idea for the next 2 months and if i think i'm not OV'ing he'll send me for testing as i'm stil BF my son, he said then if i'm not OV'ing due to BF i can then decide if i want to stop BF so i can TTC or carry on til Alfie weans. I love my doc he's fab, he's the only one i will see now cos he's so supportive of everything and always asks for my input on anything we discuss

I suppose it all depends on your situation. If your young and have no fertility problems, then just having sex regularly should get you pregnant within the 12 months without any problems. If you want it to be a little less hit and miss and give yourself the optimum chance every month then opks and temping are the way to go, especially if you have odd cycles and you never know when O will occur. Im 41 trying for my third and dont have a lot of time to waste, and doing the hit and miss method simply wont cut it this time around so I use everything thats available to give me the best chance every month.

Doctors are STOOOPID OOOOPID !!!!!

and as for them saying don't temp or don't use OPKs - PAH!
you do whatever you can to make the TC journey as easy as possible....

Actually... the specialist books say to every other day...
and the surge - happens BEFORE OV !

AAARRRRRGH.

We've got our second FS appointment in December but my man and I have agreed to just go get our results and then never go back!
the NHS is an absolute shambles!

Ha - sos mine!!!

He sent my OH and me off to hospital - him to do a S/A and me to do blood tests.

OH got there and they said - no... your dr should've given you a sample pot and you do the sample and THEN bring it in...

so then we went on to do my bloods and the nurse said "how long have you fasted for"
erm....FASTED? he didn't tell me to fast !

yup - RUBBISH!

I'm with you there hunny. Me and OH have to pinpoint it - if we don't then we have no chance as OH has low sex drive and I'm 37. I have to limit it to twice or three times during my most fertile period so I need the OPKs and temping to help me out. Temping has shown that I ovulate a little later than I thought so this has helped me loads.
