Hi jodie
I've never been q smoker myself but my fella was a packet per day kinda guy. But when I got preg for my son he really wanted to give up. He went to his gp and started with the patches. He never gave in and now says he couldn't even imagine smoking Again, it's been 4 years now

I'm not sure Jodie, why not make an appointment with your GP to discuss your best option?
Its really good to make or brake with the smoking. My auntie also tried the patches, after 2 weeks she had a fag and then couldn't carry on with the patches, same with my bro-in-law.
I think once you start them, you gotta keep going!

I'm dealing with the same thing. I smoke about 8 cigs a day and am trying to quit before my bfp (though I'm prepared to quit immediately if my bfp comes before I've managed to quit completely). I have borrowed a quitting smoking cd from a friend on here who got her bfp. She used the cd's to quit smoking just before she got her bfp so hopefully it'll work for me too. Good luck hun.

Hi Jodie,

I am also smoker (about 10-15 per day). I came off bc about 7 weeks ago and about 3 weeks ago I was convinced I was pregnant.

As soon as it crossed my mind that I might be expecting I stopped smoking.

I just didn't want a fag and also the thought of doing any harm to the foetus just took away all the confusion you get when trying to quit - I simply saw it as not having a choice.

Turns out it was just side effects of coming off the pill and I wasn't preggers -which is fine because I wanted to get back some sort of cycle before properly trying.

Anyway, I think when you want something more than you want to smoke you will just stop. And the very fact you're on this forum indicates you'd like a baby very much so I would try and relax about it. Obviously giving up beforehand would be ideal but if you end up stressing yourself out loads it could mess up your cycle.

Good luck xxxxxx

Hun go to the docs and ask for 'Champix.' It's awesome. My OH used it.
