Pre-Conception Doctor Appointment

Has anyone gone for a pre-conception doctors appointment? I am new to the town I live in and just found a family doctor today so I set up an appointment for Thursday. What should I expect? Will they do lots of tests or just a regular pap? I'm not at all nervous....just wondering if the doctor will ask me stuff I'm not expecting!

I spoke to the doc when i came off the bcp... they didnt really do much at all. Just spoke about smoking, eating healthy etc then talked about how bcp would make no difference at all to chances of conception blah blah... have very regular paps anyway so didnt need to do that again. Easy peasy. Good luck!

When I went for mine, they took bloods to see if I was immune to Rubella. Not sure if this is age related as I am 36.

Was not in there long.

Good luck xx

Mine did basically the same thing (I was 27 at the time), she sent me to be tested for Rubella/Chicken pox and asked me if I was taking folic acid or a prenatal vitamin, that was it really.

My GP made an appointment for me to have a smear test and told me to take folic acid and watch my diet etc. etc. But that was it. In and out within 5 minutes.

GL!
