Provera and AF

Hi girls,

Just wondering if any of you can help me. I took provera for 5 days and I started spotting 3 days after my last provera tablet. AF showed up the next day. Its now 'supposed to be' CD3 but AF seems to have gone AWOL. I usually get AF for 4 days medium flow, sorry tmi, but this time it came 2 days very light flow.

Is that normal? Im kinda panicking as I started taking clomid yesterday and im not sure if what I've done is right.

Thanks

Sorry hun no experience with provera but didn't want to read and run. Is this your first time taking Provera?? If so, then it would probably be expected that your period, when it came, would not necessarily be the exact same pattern as normal. Sorry can't be more help but maybe somebody who has experience of Provera could give some insight??

Hi

I've been taking Norethisterone which is basically the same thing, they're both progestins..

Anyway, 1st & 2nd time I had a 'normal' af but 3rd time was pretty much what you're describing. That was a month ago and I was wondering why too.

I think sometimes that's just what happens. I shouldn't think there will be any probs taking Clomid.

Let me know how it goes though, I should be starting my first round of Clomid very soon (Hospital appointment on Monday) and a bit anxious about it

Baby dust to you

AF decided to show up again after going away on a walk that same day. Its now gone completely and I have one last day left to take clomid. Luckily I havent had any symptoms, I just had some bad cramping yesterday, all gone now.

How did you go on your appointment?

Thanks for asking.

Not quite as expected to be honest. NO CLOMID!

I've seen 3 FS's up to now and they all think different things, so I'm totally confused. At least this one was really nice and helpful. They think I have PCOS but only from Biochemical results (no cysts). Will find out more tomorrow FX for me.

Good luck with your 1st Clomid cycle FX for you too

Its really annoying when you get different results from different doctors! I can understand how you can be confused. Its good that you got a nice and helpful doctor its much easier to talk to them when they're like that.

I have my fingers x'd for you and hope all goes well!

I use to take Provera to get my cycles before I was diagnosed with PCOS, but I did have lighter cycles as well. I think thats just part of it. I use to have like 7 day cycles and now they are like 4 days. I also take clomid and maybe that affects the cycles as well but for the most part for me, it was just the provera. So dont worry you are fine.
