Just reading on the net that doctors are starting to believe that accupuncture can help with fertility, considering giving it a go, mayne it will help my body start ovulating after coming off cerazette.

Anyone ever tried it?

I tried it for 6 sessions. The doctor thought it might help me relax, since I have unexplained infertility and I am a very anxious person. The doc said she likes to see patients notice some sort of a difference after 6 sessions, and since I didn't, I quit. I know it works for a lot of people, though, so it wouldn't hurt to give it a try! Good luck!

Hiya. I took up acupuncture together with Traditional chinese medicine (a lot of fertility specialising acupuncturist will recommend this). I took it up because I have had so much conflicting crap from the Western Doctors - in my opinion they seem to know jack about fertility and told me all my blood test results were normal. Several weeks later and only coz I felt one of them wasn't I went back to the docs and got a gynae referral - He told me my FSH was elevated (it was 16.7) they like it to be 10 or under. He said my only hope was IVF with a doner egg and cos of my age I would have to pay. I said bollocks! I've had 4 sessions of acupuncture now and been on the chinese herbs for 3 weeks. I had a cd3 blood test last week and my FSH levels came in at 5.8 - Marked difference. I believe. Btw if you do temp charts etc the Eastern method finds them very useful - my acupuncturist told me it had saved her at least a months work.

I don't know where you are based but check out this website - This guy specialises in Fertility and maybe able to recommend someone in your area.

I love it...and believe in it. I am medically trained but still the benefits of it.

When i came off the pill after 14 years my periods went AWOL!! hardly any for about 2 years, like 100 days cycles!! I went to an accupuncturist, he said it would take 8 sessions to bring them back....2 hours after my 8th session....da da AF arrived and have been 28-30 days since!!

Going again now after 2 mcs...lots of evidence of accup in fertility!!!!

Like anything, you have to believe it will work for you.... so take a deep breath, have some faith and go for it!

Hi - i went for acupuncture last year for 6 sessions. I had really bad periods and I think it def helped with that - i stopped going in January cos I didnt think it was helping me get my BFP but my periods havent been as bad since - im half thinking of going back again (but to a different place) to see if I can get my BFP. Acupuncture is very relaxing so thats prob one of the reasons people fall pregnant, cos they finally relax.

And i heard it great for getting you ovulating - so def give it a go.

I have 5 sessions of acupuncture this cycle and I didn't get my BFP coz the wicked arrived today But I will continue on for at least another cycle because I guess one can't expect things to happen right away... It did somehow changed my cycle though. I think my LP has shortened.

I wonder if other ladies have the same 5 needles put in? My lady put in 1 on each wrist and ankle, and 1 around the uterus area.

I have had 3 sessions and I believe it helps. I see a guy in marlow who specialises in Fertility. He recommended I try and go once during the follicular phase (so have an appointment for next week), once around ovulation, and once in the luteal phase (so 3 times a month). I temp as well and as someone else said he was very pleased with all the info I was able to give him.

Give it a go - its worth trying!
